Arms Week Awaits

Bows will be the featured weapon for the first Arms Week of Renegades. We are talking about a one-week event where you will be earning a new weapon, using new, kinda broken mods for them, and also testing them in a unique version of the Hardware modifier for the Crucible playlist. We shared all the details for Arms Week last week. Be there!

A Challenge from the Dark Age

Guardians, prepare for our next community challenge: The Dark Age Hunt. It’s time to go back to the old weapons, no fancy Blasters allowed for this one. Choose your favorite Bow, Glaive and Sword to prove yourselves in exchange for a unique reward: Fallen Torches, the amazing emblem you can see below.  

The goal is simple: similar to the medieval version of the Hardware modifier we have planned for the Crucible during Arms Week, we want you all to take that loadout concept into Warlord’s Ruin. You may remember there’s a fancy triumph for this dungeon called ‘Cut with Dark Age Steel, O Vengeance Mine’ that asks exactly for that, and you are right: this is exactly what this challenge is about. The difference is, you must do it all by yourself because the Dark Age was dangerous and lonely like that. 

Here’s a rundown of the rules:

Dates
- Start: January 27, after reset time (10am PT)
- Finish: February 3, before reset time (9:59am PT)
Activity to complete
- Warlord’s Ruin
Fireteam composition
- Solo
Gameplay requirements
- Players must only use Bows, Glaives, and Swords
  - You can swap between different Bows, Glaives and Swords, even in different slots
- Dungeon must be completed in one go, without going into orbit between encounters
- Flawless completion not required
Allowed:
- Abilities
- The following movement techniques:
  - Using swords with the Eager Edge perk
  - 'Skating’
Not allowed:
- Weapons other than Bows, Glaives and Swords
- Going out of bounds
- Skipping encounters or traversal sections

We will be tracking completions internally so you don't have to submit your BungieIDs for this one, but instead, maybe you can record and share your successful runs with us on social media using #DarkAgeHunt, and we’ll also reward you with the Movie of the Week emblem. You have a few days to prepare your strategies and then one whole week to complete the challenge. Good luck!

Game2Give 2026 Livestream Coming Up!

Hey there, Lightkeepers! We are 11 days into this year’s Game2Give, we have already smashed our initial fundraising goal of $1,177,000, and this community is proving once again that it is second to none when it comes to showing up for a good cause. The communal support and generosity of Guardians has once again been incredible and will help further the impact of The Bungie Foundation’s core missions: supporting children’s health and well-being, humanitarian aid, and inclusion, diversity, and equity.

As you all continue to run up the score with donations, we have one big final celebration coming soon. Our annual Game2Give livestream is going down January 29 at 10 AM PT on the Bungie Foundation Twitch channel! This year we are celebrating the history of Bungie games with the BUNGIE THROUGH THE AGES gaming showdown. Two teams will partake in challenges across OG Marathon, the Halo series, and Destiny 1 and Destiny 2 to earn ultimate bragging rights. Making up our two teams and joining us at HQ will be Lightkeepers SpiritXO, SwiftSTB, Jobbo and MalachiXCII. And shoutcasting all of this gaming goodness will be Makowski and JOverrated. It’s going to be a chaotic good time for a great cause.

We’re also thrilled to announce special guest appearances from Brian Villalobos (Lodi) and Todd Haberkorn (The Drifter)! They’ll be partaking in our G2G shenanigans and competing in the first-ever edition of Fireteam Feud! We’ll also be auctioning off truly epic items from Bungie’s history. Oh, and the emblem. How could we forget the emblem? One of the most beautiful emblems in the game, A Thousand Hugs, will be available for donation during the livestream!

At the heart of Game2Give is this community and the change we’ve made possible together across decades of Bungie games. We can’t wait to celebrate you all January 29 at 10 AM PT. See ya on Twitch! We have Trials of Osiris ready to go tomorrow with a fan favorite map and a great weapon to earn. Get ready to fight for your life in Javelin-4 as you complete your armor set and earn more rolls of the recently reprised Astral Horizon Kinetic Shotgun. Make Saint-14 proud.

Destiny 2: Marathon Pre-Order Pack Information

Earlier this week, pre-orders for our new game, Marathon, went live. Players who pre-order will unlock a bundle of Marathon-themed items in Destiny 2.

Players must pre-order on a platform that is linked to the same Bungie.net profile as their Destiny 2 account to receive the Destiny 2: Marathon Pre-Order Pack.
Players can acquire their items at the Special Deliveries terminal in the Tower.

Known Issues List

The Hunter Polar Wolf helmet is not displaying its ears with the hood down.
The Martlet Pulse Rifle turns the incorrect color when black shaders are applied to the weapon.
The Covert Ranger Cloak ornament does not properly move with the character model and physics.
When some Exotic armors are equipped, it is not increasing the New Gear Armor damage resistance stat when previewing the artifact. This is a display-only issue, the Exotics are applying their damage resistance but not increasing the counter.
The Dawning Oven is still present in some player's inventories after the event has ended.
The description for the Vanguard Alerts: Challenges weekly objective incorrectly references general activity challenges in its description. This objective can be progressed with Vanguard Alert activity challenges or Grandmaster Vanguard Alerts.
We've identified an issue where Renegades campaign activities and Lawless Frontier Jobs default to Normal difficulty. Players can set the difficulty to Expert when launching into these activities if they would like to earn greater rewards. Completing Jobs on either difficulty will not impact Legendary campaign completion triumphs.
Players encounter an endless black screen when launching into the Exodus Garden 2A Expert Lost Sector from the flag in the Cosmodrome.

Being an emissary looks like a tough job, either your will is not your own or they break your left eye and your glasses. The Nine are not getting a job application from us any time soon.
