Ye, this is just way too much.
The first combat parts take like 5 to 7 minutes to get through, then the jumping puzzles are way too time consuming to get through even if you don’t die, leaving you with hardly any time at all to kill the boss that has TWO HEALTHBARS, while also spawning in TWO WALKERS.
How the hell did anyone do this when it first released? Was the time more generous than 20 minutes?
I tried three attempts today through LFG, and we just barely made it to the Brig phase of the boss on the last attempt.

Nah, it's good DragonsBreath is your freind People were just spoiled by how easy legend Whisper was

When it first released, we didn't have the brig. We just had two walkers and the main boss. I've attempted doing legend numerous times with no success. They need to increase time a to 30 at least. Just dealing damage isn't enough time to get to the brig. This isnt possible.

I mean, back when it released all we had was two primaries and a heavy, slow -blam!- ability CDs that barely did any damage, super bars that took forever to fill, and we were much slower movement wise than we are today, but there was no legend modifier. Now we have new enemies in there along with the legend modifier, as well as enemies that scale with the fireteam making it much more daunting. Even with Strand to help during the jumping puzzles that doesn't do a lot in terms of dealing with the enemies and the original 20 min timer. With a PuG of friends we still got it done with a few mins left back in the day. Now...I don't even think my friends could get to the boss room. I still had friends that "completed" it without even getting to the boss room since I had another buddy that was able to two man it with me.

Did it yesterday. Opening part (up until last fallen barrier and start of traversal) should take 5 minutes. Don’t do the Ship/Intrinsic part on legend, it’s available on normal and it takes too long. Having 1 person with dragon’s breath nukes the tanks in the hangar and final boss, so having one is very beneficial. Each leg individually ignites. Traversal (last fallen barrier shield -> Final Boss) should take 8 minutes. Strand (any class) or solar warlock makes this extremely easy. Move quick, know your path, don’t crowd each other. Trevor is extremely easy. Know hiding spots and you’re good. One go right, one go left. Final boss, kill servitors first then shoot boss. You need to keep moving to avoid dying constantly to lasers, so weapons with minimal time standing and delivering are advised. Don’t worry too much about rez’s - if you have lasers on you, you’re just going to die. The respawn timer isn’t that long. My team ended with a little over a minute left with a less than perfect damage phase. It’s tough but not impossible. This is much more in line with recent exotic missions than Whisper (which was extremely easy)

I did it 2-man with a basic dawnblade dragons breath build. Had 4 minutes still left on the timer at the end (legend). As someone who’s done Zero Hour back in the day, it’s supposed to be this hard. Stop complaining, get better. Your problem is that you can’t be bothered to practice, then complain the result is unachievable.

Just did mine with only ONE FING SECOND REMAINING. The OG mission was easier than this abomination (because of no brig). The brig was obviously added due to lazy development. There are no changes to the mission structures besides 2 brigs added (one in the beginning and one as the boss). Also with the brig included (with full health), makes the section where you fight the actual boss an actual waste of time and ammo. For now, I’m just going to do the 3 quests in one more Legend run and never touch this one again. This is NOT how to reprise an exotic mission, Bungie. Whole thing, again, screams lazy development time and it -blam!- shows. 🤦🏾♂️

Original Zero Hour was 20 minutes for both normal and legend. The final boss room was drastically different though. There was no brig to deal with which made things simpler. You had to do legend (heroic as it was called back then) for 5 weeks in order to get the catalyst. Just keep practicing and you'll get there eventually. You'll want to get to the boss room with about 8 - 9 mins on the clock so you can clear it comfortably.
-
I think 5 minutes should be added, then it's fine
-
I'm not going to be like everyone else. It's supposed to be like this. If you spend some time with it, I promise you'll fall in love with it. 😇 👍💠 Practice on normal solo first.
-
It's doable.I just ran it Legend lfg with no mics and had 1:32 left on clock and the third guy showed up to boss room late.Definetly doable.

It will save you a extra minute or two

They should just get rid of the time limit or switch it to doing it within the time gives bonus rewards
-
Skill issue. We completed with 4 minutes remaining on legend. Get your builds right and learn the path.

All this pain so you can add a stupid barrel option, a stupid perk like rapid hit maybe MAYBE HEADSEEKER or something worth while and that's it. YEAH D2 community is a bunch of masochists who love pain and frustration. No one should play this. Period. If no one entertained bungos bull crap they might listen for once. But there they go chasing carrot on stick 🥕

My friend and I just did it, was a pain in the -blam!- and we were basically forced to use solar. I used dawn chorus with daybreak and Polaris, he used solar titan with pyrogale and dragonsbreath. Anytime u see a walker ignition basically if not almost instant kills them, for real tho the brig spamming artillery is just unnecessary.

There’s shortcuts. Utilize that and make better builds

Latest attempt of mine I got to the vault with 2 minutes remaining, don’t know how the hell im going to deal with room full of adds, having to kill said adds and damage the boss to start the second phase (which I despise) which in a brig (if not the worse enemy in the game) and had no ammo left cause of said brigs and tanks being bullet sponges
-
That’s why I’m just going to get all three quest steps to completing zero hour on legend so I can just do it once then never have to touch the legend version again
