NMS (No Man's Sky) is a roguelike sci-fi survival exploration game in an 'infinite' procedurally generated universe of over 18 quintillion planets. To put that into perspective, it'd take 585 billion years to visit every planet if you visited a new one every second. Everything in NMS is procedurally generated by fractal algorithms that produce an endless variety. NMS will release on the PS4 & PC (Steam) at the same time, it might release on Xbox One a few months later. This group is dedicated to covering everything about NMS. Anyone is welcome. (Interview) Questions are answered. New info is given.

Things discussed in this interview: Multiplayer, open worlds, linearity, weapons, ships, trading, Star Wars, and most importantly, what the game is actually about – what the objective is. Things that can be learned from this interview: Multiplayer is similar to Journey, yet Sean Murray didn't go into specifics. Hello Games cares more what your ship can do rather than how it looks. No goals will be set for you. Play how you want. You will have a tool that can do various different things: it can be used to attack things, it can be used to mine, or can be used to scan. You can upgrade your tool and suit by finding trading posts on planets. You can trade (items, resources, ships) No 'game over'

  • My favorite thing about this interview is how down to earth it feels (no pun intended). Of course, he's trying to sell the game to an audience, but it sounds more like a few guys talking about a cool new game and less like a PR man running through the bullet points. I like what he had to say about the purpose of ships. With how much diversity Murray is touting among ships, it seems like they'll be a much bigger decision than picking the coolest paint job. I can tailor my ship to what I want to do. Love this game more every day.

    • I wonder what happens if you die. Also can other players attack you since they pop in randomly?
