Last Chance prologue: A man with no Name

SITUATION REPORT: Guardian recruits Nazland and Boktok were stationed on the wall's south-western edge. We found there corpses the next morning. after thoroughly searching the campsite, we discovered what had happened the previous night after finding the recording from Boktok's helmet. This is what happened. LOCATION: THE LAST CITY'S WALL EXTERIOR. TIME: 11:37 PM 4 MONTHS AFTER THE TOWER'S DESTRUCTION BY THE ROUGE GUARDIAN RAIN. "You know?`I'm gettin' real sick of this Traveler-forsaken guard duty." Nazland says after cleaning his gun for five minutes. Boktok was starring off into the darkness that had surrounded their tiny camp, he was startled by Nazland's sudden interjection; "Hm! what? 'somethin' happen?" Naz' raises an eyebrow at Bok; "Never mind" Bok takes a glance at his watch, and says "we still got a few hours to go." Naz' sets his pulse rifle down and puts his helmet on the grassy floor next to him. "I don't understand this, we sit out here for hours guarding a wall that is easily 500 ft high. I mean look at that damn thing! seriously?!" Bok shakes his head "Hey, don't look at me, I don't give the orders. you wanna know why? take it up with the sergeant" Naz sighs and looks around, all they have is a small fire, some salted meat, and water. Suddenly, he here's a rustling in the bushes about 20 ft. behind him. He spins around to see what the noise was, but there's nothing there. "Jumpy huh?" Boktok asks his paranoid warlock partner. "Yeah, kinda' did you here those rumors about that 'Courier' guy? ya' know the one with the black cloak?" Bok rolls his eyes, he hates all these weird stories that we're popping up after that homicidal maniac Rain went missing. "Yeah i heard 'em, he tells you that ya' got a 'special delivery' and then he kills you in some odd way." Naz picks up his rifle again, "It's pretty weird if you ask me". Bok stands up and picks up his incendiary shotgun. "Well i didn't ask you did I?" Bok slowly walks off into the blackness and says "I'll be right back i gotta check if the Mine went off or not" Naz gives a small wave as his titan counter part struts away. After a few minutes he hears a loud BANG! Naz shoots up like a wet cat and points his firearm in the direction of the noise "Bok!" he yells more frightened then he's ever been. "Bok you okay?! what happened?" Than Naz heart skips a beat as a deep gravely voice reads out some incredibly specific personal information. "Nazland Beitviet, Awoken male, age: 19, enlisted with the Guardian corps approximately: 4 months ago." Naz' is shaking with an overwhelming sense of dread and vulnerability. *Click* *Click* Naz' hears a familiar sound of a shotgun being loaded and cocked. "Unfortunately, Nazland suffered an untimely Death at 11:42 PM last night." Those were the last words he heard before his brain matter was splattered all over the dirt. Thank you to any of those who read this. it is only the beginning of a long story of which i will post the first chapter soon enough. Also, for those of you curious, I am actually a friend of Rain in person. The person who's (unfinished) story "Everything Burns" is based off of. he can't continue that story at the moment, as he is very busy with other things. However he did want someone to continue it, so he handed me the keys. Like i said, he'll come back eventually to finish the story. but for now, The Colonel's takin' over.
