Does the Bungie api have a way of viewing player online status?

I'm creating a website for clans where you enter the clan ID and it, among other things, creates a table of its members with some simple status information such as if thy are online and what game they are playing. For the most part, the data would be stored as json in a database, but sometimes I want the data to refresh. I was using the Xbox API, but since it is unofficial the creator put a price on it. Is there a way using the bungie API to achieve the same goal?

On b.net you should see an Friends icon. It will show "Following, Clan, PlayStation and Xbox Live" on what your friends/followers are doing. Is this what you are referring to?
