Weekly Nightfall 11/04/14 - Mars

Hey guys! Back with some tips on this weeks nightfall! [b]Essentials[/b] -Fiiiiiire. A lot of enemies have solar shields, as this level is entirely Cabal. -Someone with an Icebreaker is pretty much necessary, you'll be sniping [u]lots[/u]. -Ammo synths (juggler is on). [b]Recommended[/b] -Void damage for psions. -A warlock with self-reviving capabilities. [b]Opening[/b] This part is all low-level enemies. No big deal. Activate the station with your ghost and then proceed through the tube. [b]First room[/b] The enemies here [i]are[/i] level 28, but it isn't a darkness zone! Run along the left and try and blitz past if you want, or take them out. Your call. [b]Outside (3 generals)[/b] Coming up to the room with all the interceptors, [u]do not[/u] enter the room. Hang back, snipe everyone. There's a colossus just waiting to FSU, so don't charge in. After you kill everything, proceed to the big opening. Again, snipe everyone. There's a couple centurions on the left just over the hill, and they like to hide. Focus fire on them. Lots of enemies around the base, and there's a spawn off to the right. Snipe 'em all. Once you've cleared enough enemies (you be the judge) have 1 or 2 people hop on an interceptor and blow everyone away. Be careful though, once the first general is dead, a dropship will spawn. Back in the hole. Same strategy. [b]The Tank[/b] First of all, spread out. Even if you don't have a great angle to (again) snipe, stay the f*%k away from each other. The shot the tank fires has a massive AoE, significantly larger than the standard level strike. Shoot the "feet," this shouldn't take that long. Soon as you've killed it, hop on your sparrows and zip along the left to the trail, ignore the enemies. [b]Outside the base[/b] Low-level enemies! Kill them for ammo if you're running low. If you've killed them all and need more, go up the ramp into the base to get them respawning. [b]The Blitz[/b] Once you're in the base, follow the hallways until you go up into a room. [u]Do not enter it yet[/u]. When everyone is ready, run and jump over everyone, and go through the door at the far back left (relative to where you face looking in from the ramp). Now you're in the boss room. On the far left from where you enter, there is a big ramp with some crates alongside it. Ignore all the enemies, ignore the boss. Get. To. That. Ramp. Go along the left side of it and drop below it. This is your safe haven. This is literally the only place you want to be for the rest of the game. [b]The Long, Painful, Heartbreaking Part[/b] From inside your ramp, you can jump out of where you came in, or you can get on the crate on the far side and poke out. There's a few vantage points on that side to shoot enemies. You can shoot up through the slit in the middle of the ramp. Carefully, poke out and start killing enemies. Be careful, enemies can drop in the hole. We had it happen a few times, killed it once, another time it despawned after brutalizing us for a few seconds. Be careful. Once they're all cleared, snipe the boss in the face until more enemies spawn. When they do, back in the hole. Lather rinse repeat. Eventually the big guy will get pissed off and start walking and unload hit rockets. Just hide until he chills out, then keep blasting him. If the boss walks over towards/on the ramp, hug the wall because your life depends on it. He will do a melee stomp that can AoE through the ramp if you're too close. Eventually (this will take some time) he will die, and you'll get some pretty flames on your head and hopefully a new exotic! Feel free to message me if you need a hand! Cheers everyone!
