New enemy species?

Could there possibly be species/enemy on Venus? Let me know your ideas guys? If not how did the vex come to being? Could they have been created by another more sophisticated race? We know it can't be the cabal or hive, because the canal fight them, and the hive just don't use machinery. It also seems a little to sophisticated for the fallen As well? So how were they made? Could the vex have been created by a group of new super extraterrestrial beings? Or has the spiciest that created them died out. We know the vex are also evolving. In the vault of glass you see the ancient vex. Is this new species upgrading them, or are they organic and this is just an evolutionary instinct to adapt?
