Raid Tactics

This is just some ideas I was thinking of for tackling a Raid. Of course, equipment is going to be a big part of preparing for this and as it takes a couple of hours it makes sense to begin planning tactics for handling this. 1. Team Build. The one thing I can see needing to do is choose the place to fight so chokepoints are probably going to be essential. And for blocking the chokepoints are Titans and Warlocks. The Titan and just punch enemies back. Maybe 3 Titans, Two Warlocks and a Hunter? The Titans fight in a wall formation with the Warlocks hiding behind them and using their glide to hover up when they need to nova bomb over the Titans head... As the Warlocks are wearing only 20% armour they need the protection from the Titans, hence why they stay behind the Titans and fill in for any leakers with vortex grenades. The Hunter should get up high with his triple jump and perch with his sniper rifle and rocket launcher for when it gets heavy time. His main job should be counter sniper, as those b's can be a right pain (anyone remember the cloaked snipers in the first part of the Devil's lair strike? We kept getting nailed until we realised what was happening). Basically the Titans act as crowd control. Smashing any enemies back when they get too close but leaving gaps between them that can be filled with vortex grenades and allows the Warlocks to fire between them. If the Titans need to manoeuvre the Warlocks can just take to the air. Coordination is key. Specials should be called out so that we don't waste them. Maybe one person should act as leader and call out the specials as needed. Rezzing - The most likely ones to get wrecked are the Titans as they will be closest to the action. A handy, dandy vortex bomb will hold the enemies back while the Warlock does the rezzing. Yes, Warlocks should be our medics. There is also a chance that the sniper will get sniped too so they will have to be able to get to them as well (which is why there are two Warlocks. One can go rez while the other is protecting him. Those are just a few ideas... we can probably expand on them when we know what the raids are like and what the nerf of the day is (yeah, some days arclight or solar or void powers will get reduced and we will have to equip different loadouts). Talking loadouts we will have to coordinate what equipment we have too. Would be silly to go in with weapons with elemental damage that has been nerfed for the day.

  • One thing we need to do regarding tactics is for each console raiding party to come back with what they find. What works and what doesn't... videos with awesome progress and even epic failures. It all adds up the intel we need on various activities. Got a glimmer farming route, share it. One thing... is this forum actually hidden from the rest of the groups?
