Guardian Link- Episode 8, Discovery

"TARANTELLA! I'M GOING TO DESTROY YOU!" The warlock yelled, leaping at the shadowy hunter with all his might. "Bronze! No! Not again!" Jolt cried out after him. She put her hand down, knowing it was useless. Tarantella dodged Bronze's thunderstrikes with ease, as well as shots from his sidearm. He chuckled, launching an uppercut at Bronze's head in an instant. Bronze's head snapped back, his body going up into the air and slamming onto a metal platform below him. The fallen catwalk under him snapped, sending him crashing into the lower depths of the fallen hideout. Tarantella, Kronor, the shadow phalanx, and Grahk, the shadow captain bellowed in laughter at Bronze's attempt to fight Tarantella. "Kal! Go get Bronze! You... Oh." Jolt exclaimed, as Grahk leapt toward Kahl to attack. Caeli whipped out her scout rifle and faced Grahk as well. As Jolt turned back to face Tarantella, she also saw Garret and Cira avoiding attacks from Kronor's shield as they attempted to engage in combat. She readied her shotgun to attack Tarantella as he spoke. "Ready for another round, m'lady?" Bronze groaned, pulling his body up. The extreme anger started to leave him as he rose. He looked around. The room he was in was dark, dimly lit by the hole he had created in the ceiling. Various fallen arms and crates were on the rusty walls around him. "Whelp, I'm no use to them anyway, I guess." He sighed. "Don't say that, you're plenty of help. You just have to control your anger towards Tarantella. Which, now that I think of it, may be pretty hard to do." His ghost chirped, flashing out beside him. "I guess." "Hey, what's that?" "What's what?" "There's a light flashing in your robes. Is that, is that the light stone? Why do you have it?" "Uhhh, the vanguard's scientists couldn't figure out what to do with it, so they just let me hold onto it! I guess that means I'm important after all!" Bronze claimed, beaming. "Oooorrrr, you were the only one curious about it. Anyway, I think it's moving now! What the heck?" Bronze's ghost exclaimed. The ghost was correct, the light stone had begun floating away from Bronze, toward a hallway in the hideout. "Where are you going Lily?" Bronze asked. "Lily? What?" The ghost asked Bronze. "Well think about it. It's a light stone, and it's little!" "Ugh, what the heck Bronze? Anyway, this is extraordinary, let's grab it and get back to Jolt" The ghost said, just as Jolt and the rest of the crew came crashing down from the catwalk above them. They all rose, groaning and rubbing their heads. Tarantella and his crew cackled from above. “Guys! Guys! The light stone is floating away! Follow me!” Bronze exclaimed, jumping up and down. The other guardians barely managed to process the situation before following Bronze into the depths of the hideout. They walked through the musty corridors, their ghosts lighting the way dimly. The bodies of fallen soldiers lay around the ground. Barely deteriorated, they were killed very recently. Lily's small shine gleamed ahead. Bronze and Caeli took up the lead, looking equally excited. Cira even further ahead, looking extremely intrigued. Jolt and Garret hung back, looking bored, and Kal walked stoically behind the rest. The team's peaceful walk was interrupted by a loud banging ringing distantly behind them. They all turned their heads. An annoyed voice complained in the darkness. Tarantella. Everyone started to pick up their pace, closing in on Lily. The team now noticed the shuffling of footsteps and clanking of armor way behind them. Soon enough, Lily stopped at a small piece of metal on the ground. It floated closer, and light seemed to siphon out of the metal. Tendrils of smoky light shot up into Lily, and it glowed brighter. "Is that what the orb came here for? It seems to be some sort of reservoir of energy for it." Cira alleged. The team nodded, agreeing. "Perhaps the orb really can help us. Maybe if we... Hold on. This piece of metal... It's a scrap of armor." He continued, holding up the plate. It was a navy blue breastplate, scratched up and dented. “Hold on, I remember an old urban legend.” Garret interrupted. “Some say that when a guardian dies their final death, a trace of tremendous light is left over. Looks like our little friend here can benefit from it. He said, pointing to the orb. “Its name is Lily!” Caeli yelled at Garret, making him stumble backward. Bronze, Caeli and Jolt laughed at Garret, who, annoyed, brushed himself off. “Well, I guess that’s all it came for.” Kal said, as the orb stopped floating and landed in Bronze’s arm. “All we need to do now is figure out how to use the darn thing.” Jolt muttered. Suddenly, a large crash was heard above them. The ceiling collapsed, letting brilliant sunlight flood into the dark room. Out of the rubble rose three dark figures. The team stood back, readying their weapons. “Found ya.” Tarantella said, sneering. “And I’ve come for MY orb.”
