I would like to know the answer to this as well. My Xbox headset crapped out after about a month of use.

I ended up getting astro a40s. They don't have the mic problems of the a50s. They are SO GOOD. Couldn't be happier

Cool I just don't like wired headphones( mostly because of my kids).

A40's are wired I thought. Or do they use the controller

The only wire is to the controller, it's great. When you first sync them up when you first buy them you have to plug them into the Xbox for about a minute, but after that I never have again. Just wired to the controller

That's good to know. I never considered the A40. I tried the A50 and they are really good but not $300 good

Yeah the a50 is notorious for having a terrible mic though. The a40s don't have that problem

Not surround unfortunately, there are still no good surround sound headsets for Xbox one yet. The first ones that look good coming out is the turtle beach 800s, out this year sometime
