Short, Scary Stories! 2 [Updated, 4.15.09]

This thread will have some stories from the books "Scary Stories to tell in the Dark" and "More Scary Stories to tell in the Dark" Enjoy.
The Big Toe A boy was digging at this edge of his family's garden when he saw a toe poking out from the dirt. He tried to dig it out of the dirt, but it was stuck to something. The boy gave a great tug and the toe came out of the ground. He then heard a groan and something scamper away. he showed the toe to his mom. She said, "This'll be great to add to the soup tonight." So, the mother cut the toe into 3 pieces and put them into the soup. Later that night, after the boy ate supper, he felt tired and went to bed. he was awakened at midnight by a groaning in the street. "Where is my to-o-o-o-o-e?" it groaned. The boy got very scared. But he thought, "He doesn't know where I am, it won't find me." Then the groan again, but it was in front of his house. "Where is my to-o-o-o-o-e?" the boy tried to sleep, he thought it was just his imagination. But then he heard the front door open, and he heard the groan again. "Where is my to-o-o-o-o-e?" The boy heard footsteps slowly move through the kitchen into the dining room, then into the living room. He then heard footsteps slowly climbing the stairs. Closer the footsteps came. They were right outside his door. "Where is my to-o-o-o-o-e?" The do0or opened. The boy was shaking with fear. He listened as the footsteps moved closer through the dark room to his bed. Then they stopped. "Where is my to-o-o-o-o-e?" The voice groaned...
The next few posts will be made by me, they are were future stories will be. I'm not trying to bump this thread, I'm only making it so that you can see more stories on this first page. [Edited on 01.01.2011 11:22 AM PST]

At 2.00am he heard a dripping noise, he checked his dog was at the bottom of his bed. He felt a lick and he got up and turned of the tap.He went back to bed. At 3.30am, he heard the dripping noise again, he put his hand down the covers and felt the dog lick his hand, he got up and turned off the tap. At 5.00am, he heard the dripping noise and checked for the lick, then got up and turned of the tap. But he noticed, light coming through the window in the shower was being blocked by a shadow. He pulled the shower curtain back to reveal his dog, Hung, skinned and dripping, the boy scared ran back to his bed. There on the bed was a note which read "Dogs arent the only thing that can lick" True Story. (Repasted it on the second thread so someone will read it.)
That is not a true story.

 • In rural Wisconsin, there is an old abandoned park. Built in the 1920s, it served as the town's gathering place for everyone. That is, until a newly developed Train and Tunnel for Tots ride was installed in 1932. It was an innocent looking childish train, with one main (mechanized) head car, with three small trolleys pulled behind it. It went around some loops before going into a small tunnel. But this is where the story gets weird. There were numerous cases of child deaths that year, all of them happening after the child rode on that train system. Some kids went missing in that short tunnel (about ten feet), and others went comatose after leaving. One, upon exiting, was found to be dead. Her dress was covered in what looked like small bloody handprints. Some killed themselves by scratching at their throats until they bled out, and one of them even killed another child before hanging herself with razor wire at the family's farm. The park was closed, and the town's popularity as a tourist town plummeted. Recently, a team of scientists were sent out to the park. They taped a video camera to the train, and put a new intern in with it, before sending it on its way onto the tracks. When the train left the tunnel, it was empty, except for the camera. The last ten seconds were nothing but static, save for the sound of children laughing.

 •
Posted by:
Posted by: T3H NOO8 Silent Night (By me, myself, and I.) -John had just moved into his new neighborhood after selling off his house back in Jamestown, Virginia. He had moved to Errol, New Hampshire. It was a small town. Population around 200 people. He didn't mind. He wanted to find a nice, quiet place where he could start a book about Murderers and their psychology, as this had always interested him. His house was on the outskirts of town. Although he had grown up in a big city, he never was one for the fast-paced city life. He prefered the country. The buildings were about a half a mile apart. Dirt roads. Nothing special. Except for the scenery out onto Blood Lake. He wondered why the lake was called that. "Oh well." he thought. "I'll find out later. It's getting dark out." He had been there for about 3 days so far. Enough time to unpack all his things and settle in to his new surroundings. Each night at sunset he watched the lake shine blood red. Though that might be the most plausible reason for naming the lake Blood Lake, he had a feeling that it was not the full story. That something else in the past had something to do with it. He sat by the fire place, wrapped up in a comfortable, but expensive, down blanket, and had a warm cup of coffee. While gazing down upon the lake, he thought he saw a silhouette of a man outside of the window in the corner of his eye. He gave a small jump, but decided that since it was getting late, his eyes were starting to play tricks on him. He got up, poured his half-drank cup of coffee on the fire, and headed off to bed. He could not sleep that night. Not because of the coffee. He had barely drank half a cup all day. It was because of the silence. No noises. Not even crickets. He lay in his bed awake for most of the night. As he was about to finally fall asleep, he heard a footstep outside. He was not easily scared. He got up, opened his window and said: "All right. I know somebody is out there. I saw you this afternoon. Show yourself. Don't worry, I won't call the cops. I just want to know why you're out so late." No answer. Just silence greeted him. He thought nothing of it. Everything in his house was locked. He closed his window, locked it, and went to bed. -End of Part One- Comments?
Silent Night, Part 2! (By Me, Myself, and I.) -It was 3:00 AM when he checked his clock before he went to bed. Strangely enough, he woke up at 5:00. Much earlier than he had ever been up before. The thought did not weigh heavily on his mind for long. Instead, he cooked up a hot bowl of oatmeal, and decided for the first time to watch the sun rise on the lake. It was much different than sunset. Instead of almost ruby red, it glowed a deep blue. Almost the color of the sky in daylight with no clouds. That's strange. he thought. Why would it glow deep blue instead of dark red? I think I'll do some research on this lake. Something about it makes me feel uneasy now. -After beginning his book on the psychology of Murderers, he ate a small lunch, got in his car, and headed to town. He found the local library as soon as he entered town. It was small, almost the size of a church. In fact, it closely resembled one. But not quite. He parked in the lot, turned off the car, and got out. There was no need to lock it in a small town like this. All the people knew better. As he turned to face the woods, he the silhouette of the man he saw last night, peeking around the backside of the library. It was a dark shadow, almost transparent. Even in bright sunlight, it had remained a shadow. It stood there for a moment, and just vanished. Almost like steam, but in an ominous manner. -He stood there for a moment, dumbfounded by what he saw. He then shook off the feeling of fear, regained his composure, and acted like nothing happened when he entered the library. He dared not tell anyone what he saw. What would they say? Probably that he was crazy. He walked up to the main desk. Behind it was a small, elderly lady. Around 70 years old. "You're a new face. What brings you here, dear?" The polite old lady asked. "I came to look up Blood Lake. Just wanted to find out how it got its name." "I see you're smart. Normally anyone would just assume it got it's name because of the color it glows at sunset. Tell me, did you look at it as the sun rises?" "Yes, I did." "Well, here. Take this book. It should give you all you need to know. That is, if you can handle gruesome details, if you know what I mean." It was an old leather book. It had no title, and was thick. John guessed about 500 pages. It seemed to be written around the early 1800's. Oddly, it was light as a feather. John checked the book out, said his final goodbyes, and exited the library. During the short, but none the less intriguing discussion, he had nearly forgotten about the shadow he had seen... End of Part 2. Comments?
Yeah where is the third part? It is a very good story and I really wanna know the end. Please post Part 3! :D

 • Found this The Holder of the End In any city, in any country, go to any mental institution or halfway house in you can get yourself to. When you reach the front desk, ask to visit someone who calls himself "The Holder of the End". Should a look of child-like fear come over the workers face, you will then be taken to a cell in the building. It will be in a deep hidden section of the building. All you will hear is the sound of someone talking to themselves echo the halls. It is in a language that you will not understand, but your very soul will feel unspeakable fear. Should the talking stop at any time, STOP and QUICKLY say aloud "I'm just passing through, I wish to talk." If you still hear silence, flee. Leave, do not stop for anything, do not go home, don't stay at an inn, just keep moving, sleep where your body drops. You will know in the morning if you've escaped succesfully. If the voice in the hall comes back after you utter those words continue on. Upon reaching the cell all you will see is a windowless room with a person in the corner, speaking an unknown language, and cradling something. The person will only respond to one question. "What happens when they all come together?" The person will then stare into your eyes and answer your question in horrifying detail. Many go mad in that very cell, some disappear soon after the meeting, a few end their lives. But most do the worst thing, and look upon the object in the person's hands. You will want to as well. Be warned that if you do, your death will be one of cruelty and unrelenting horror. Your death will be in that room, by that person's hands. That object is 1 of 2538. They must never come together.

We had gone to a water park. after screwing around for a long while, i got to the hot tub areas, and i start to relax in the heat. i Open my eyes and in the other side nook area i see the large mass rise from under the water. It is the most ugliest woman i had ever seen, she had 3 chins, too much mascara(in water) and was fully clothed. she stared at me, unblinking. she didn't even blink. This stare would scare weegee. Damn was i scared, i just sunk under the water and left *true story* [Edited on 11.11.2010 9:39 AM PST]

 • A Skeleton Popped Out A FEW YEARS AGO A MAN WAS WALING DOWN A ROAD BECAUSE HIS CAR BROKE DOWN AND HE SAW A CAR COMING UP BEHIND HIM SO HE STUCK OUT HIS THUMB TO HITCH HIKE AND THE CAR STOPPED AHEAD OF HIM. HE RAN UP TO THE PASSENGER SIDE AND OPENED THE DOOR. WHEN HE OPENED THE DOOR A SKELETON POPPED OUT! CAN YOU SMELL FEAR? So, I'm sitting here on my couch, which is pushed to my computer and the rest of the room is to my back. I'm watching TV and jacking off when I hear this really menacing cackle from behind me. I shet too many bricks to sit up and look behind me, so I just slowly moved my head to the left, where I saw my cat. It was stating either blankly or terrified, at the space right behind the couch, and perfectly frozen in a position I don't normally see it in. I just watched watched it, imagining what kind of evil it saw right behind me, but then I noticed something. It started stretching and contracting its back. It was taking a -blam!-, and the cackle was just it farting. It was staring because it was focusing. I nearly threw up trying to clean it up. God dammit. Then a skeleton popped out. THEN WHO WAS CAt?? [Edited on 10.27.2010 10:00 PM PDT]

 • There was a family that lived in front of a prison. One night, the mom and dad went out leaving their two little girls. The girls heard a radio broadcast, saying that a serial killer escaped. When the two girls went to bed, the younger one was scared, so the older one told her to put her hand down and let the family dog lick her. They both fell asleep. The next day, the girls woke up and screamed. There on the wall, written in blood, were the words, "Humans can lick too."

 • Here's one (probably not that scary) The Wanderer The Wanderer is not known to be aggressive. It has caused no harm. The rumors about this gentle spirit are endless. Some say it was a person who loved the sight, sound and serenity of the forest. Others say it is just a hoax. But fake or not, The Wanderer is loved by many. Samuel's house is not too far from the forest, perhaps the closest house there is. On quiet, misty nights he likes to sit at his window and watch the silhouette pass by. His mother does not want Samuel to do this, she thinks it is luring him into the forest. Joeseph, Samuel's uncle, runs tours through the forest at night to see The Wanderer. That forest is calm, peaceful and lush, although, it is slowling being clear felled to make room for the luxury wandering forest hotel. Samuel can hear the chainsaws rattling against the bark of the trees and the rumbling of the machines, this angers him because The Wanderer's home is being destroyed. During the night, Samuel decided to run into the woods to sabotage the machines. When he found the site he saw chainsaws half inside the trees and damaged machinery. A smile grew on his face as he saw The Wanderer ambling off into the forest. Sam looked around the site. He heard heavy breathing and sobbing coming from underneath a large piece of debris. Underneath was a young man shaking and panting. He had his head tucked into his knees and was speaking jibberish. The man looked up at Sam and spoke "One look at its face can make you sad, another can make you mad" over and over again. He then started to yelp and laugh. Sam ran as fast as he could, he could hear soft footsteps in the distance. He turned around and screamed "I THOUGHT YOU WERE GENTLE!", he opened his eyes and saw it, standing right infront of him. Sam felt extremely depressed. He then remembered the mad man's words "one look at its face can make you sad, another can make you mad". Sam closed his eyes and tried to wake up, no use. He opened his eyes and saw its face again. There is now a small silhouette wandering next to it.

 •
Pictures One day, a girl was assigned a project for her photography class. She was to go out into the wilderness and take as many pictures as possible. So, she decided she'd camp out instead of just go and take some pictures. She loved nature and the outdoors, and wasn't afraid of spending the night alone out in the woods. So, she packed up everything she needed for the trip and set off. She had a great time take pictures, and really enjoyed herself photographing the woods she was camping in. That night, she went to bed, and slept soundly. She woke up, gathered her things, and went back home. She used up four rolls of film, and decided to get them developed A.S.A.P. After having the photos developed, she returned to the store to get them back. "Everything went fine, here are your photos ma'am." "Thank you." "Just one thing..." "What is that?" "There were 4 photos missing. One from each roll." "How odd." "Yes, but we did find them eventually. Would you like to see them?" "Yes, please." The man showed her the pictures, and after seeing them, she dropped her pictures, screamed, and ran home. She never went anywhere alone after that day. Those 4 photos were of her, asleep in her tent.
That one freaked me out.
