I got the auto rifle. Abyss Defiant is a solar damage Shadow Price (fekking awesome btw). I like it a lot but honestly I can kill more stuff faster with VoC...grrr....
I'd like the scout rifle but it's NOT FULL AUTO. Stuff that. VoC is my all time fave largely because I haven't worn out three R2 buttons with it. I have a Badger CCL that has explosive rounds and firefly that just wrecks thrall BUT......I use VoC far more because I'm sooooooooooo sick of using the trigger for each. and. every. shot.
The pulse rifle is on my wish list because I've yet to get an arc damage primary. I can not seem to get stupid fatebringer.

I see it. I've no doubt that it's a fantastic weapon. If it was auto like VoC I'd be motivated to get it but it's not. Honestly I can live without it. I've better stuff to do than that gawddammed Crota fight on hard mode. It's slightly less fun than being diagnosed with lung cancer.

yea auto scouts are rare u cant expect every scout to be auto then there would be no point in it being a scout just a auto rifle w/ low fire rate and high impact basically

I don't think its much to expect a hard mode raid scout rifle to be full auto tho. I guess it's preference for me. I have trouble engaging enemies effectively with a sight obscuring 1/2 the screen with a semi automatic. It's not so bad with hand cannons as you can look right over the top of them and generally most enemies are one shot kills with hand cannons. The fact that Fatebringer is just so good kind of makes the rest of the new raid weapons dull in comparison.
