These are the kinds of updates the community wants, not the big pats on the back we seem to see every week which really covers nothing. The just of the updates right now are "Players did this! Here's a write up of someone you've never heard of! Here we are patting ourselves on the back! Also IRON BANNER!"
I want to know what they're going to change or what they're thinking about changing. Why not pose the changes to the community and then get feedback instead of releasing an update, pissing everyone off and then getting a bunch of feedback that's not constructive. I have far less respect for Bungie since Destiny came out, there are so many developers out there that listen to feedback and get player input on planned updates to games. Destiny is very much an experiment, we are all testing the game, this is very evident by by Bungie acknowledging that they are seeing what works and what doesn't work when they release a patch (which would be much easier to find out by just ASKING the community).
EDIT: I just realized that the weekly update is exactly like the weekly nightfall. You're hoping for something good but get something useless and have to wait for the next week to try again.

Because the agenda Bungie had is not the same as those of most players. Players want to maximize the rewards they extract from the game. Bungie wants to do those thing that promote a healthy game and community over the long term.
