Why on earth would anyone use Pulse Rifles?
Figured out it was about time to start upgrading my Bad Juju. Man, was that a bad idea. I felt like I just reached puberty and tried fondeling breasts for the first time. Felt awkward, and I was just clumsy and out of my comfort zone.
What's your excuse for using a Pulse Rifle?

After reading through your posts, and seeing how many have a positive experience with PR, I've decided to give it another go with Bad Juju (combined with my Obsidian Mind). Thanks for the productive feedbacks

Just started upgrading red death for the health regen perk. It's nice in PvE, haven't upgraded it for the raid yet but all looks good so far. In PvP it depends on connection, if connection is good it's like the almighty Battle Rifle from early halo and amazing at range. The quicker ADS speed perk is good for strafe fire and the health perk can counter thorn DoT if you get hit twice but score the kill. If connection is bad though....6 bursts for the kill if they actually register.

I'm not using it on Earth. I'm using it on the Moon, Venus and Mars.

I was once a hater and to this day the only one I have is Bad juju but holy moly it helps build supers and especially with obsidian mind. It's almost cheat mode for voidwalker lol

I've been levelling up Bad Juju because I bought Obsidian Mind from Xur. I got the raid pulse rifle yesterday and I still have to do the weekly heroic on one character and it's my first primary with elemental damage. I want to see how much easier it makes to weekly with arc burn.

I'm levelling red death purely for entertainment reasons. 6 guardians walking through the lanterns using only red death. I think I'm getting bored.

I use juju, timepiece and red death. If you have never used any of these, you can not judge pulse rifles.

They can be good in PvP, and Bad Juju and RedDeath can be good in both, but the really low impact pulse rifles are a pain to use in PvE. It takes so many bursts to kill red enemies, then you have to reload because you used to much ammo. Just get headshots with handcannons.

Many reasons. 1 bad juju refills super which helps with the bounty and kills with the new warlock helm 2 red death refills life with kills which help with crota 3 both the crota and vog pulse rifles do element damage which is great for nightfall 4 some have better impact then auto rifles

By itself, Bad Juju is one of my favorite guns in the game now, it's just a bonus when paired with Obsidian Mind. I hate Pulse Rifles more than any other type of gun, but once you get Perfect Balance and the reload perk, just sit back and enjoy having to reload almost never. On the Bridge and the Abyss in Crota's End, you're constantly being swarmed mobs, but with BJ I spit out a constant stream of bullets and it makes everything so much easier.

Edited by BarryCrayon: 1/26/2015 4:28:04 PMI find using Red Death with a Hunter Gunslinger works really well if you use the Gunslinger's Trance perk. It makes it really easy to land all 3 shots as crits. This probably works pretty well for other pulse rifles too.

PVP or PVE? I love them for PVE patrols, 3 shot burst with an 40 ammo clip means you can headshot about 13 or so enemies in quick succession (in theory). Great fun.

Glad to see you changed your mind. JuJu is Beast since the buff. Sure it's not the "go to" for all things but definatley has it's place. Like the lamp stage of Crota.

They're good and fun? If you can shoot with some semblance of precision and consistency you can wreck with pulse rifles. Bad Juju + Obsidian mind is really unnecessary. You're wasting your exotic weapon slot. Here's why: Bad Juju and nova bomb are excellent against the same kind of enemies. Weak thrall/dreg hordes of red hp. Sure both damage tougher stuff just fine, but they don't excel against tougher enemies like they do against hordes of weak stuff. So you could also just... nova bomb. obsidian mind will give you back a ton, and with high intellect and a proper build, have nova bomb again in just a few moments. I'm speaking from experience. I hope by now people realize the gains are minimal and it's costing you an exotic slot. That said I love bad juju.
