House of Wolves will increase the damage to 362, you will have to reset all your exotics, again.
How would you feel about that?
Personally I think that might be the final nail in Destiny's coffin, for me at least. Extending playtime be resetting progress isn't a good mechanic at all in my opinion.

I know about this, doesn't change the hypothetical question and Bungie have gone back on things before.

your exotics are not reset. you trade your old exotic for a new upgraded one that you have to get back up. it is your choice to do this or not.

So what you are saying is, you made a hypothetical question, but structured it as a statement? But then doesn't it make that a statement then? Where is your If, then? You deserve your bashing and flames. Whether or not it was intentional, it is well within everyone's rational thoughts to believe that you made this as a statement. Talk about 100% wrong. Lyke Smith, one of the game developers, released a statement saying that the exotic upgrade system from The Dark Below was a failure and so was 31 vendor gear. In House of Wolves they are going to change those systems. I think that exotic upgrades will just add like 3 or 4 more attack/defense bubbles to the weapon instead of resetting all of the perks.

Maybe, maybe not. If you look up the player Veroli right now you'll see a 365 damage Badger CCL, a gun that currently caps out at 331. Perhaps they'll re-work how the upgrading process works, or maybe it's simply testing for making legendary's capable of upgrading as well, which would be a welcome change as well.

Doesn't matter to me, hoe hard Is it really? With 10 bounty slots and equipping it when you turn bounties in, if levels in no time.

Edited by prodygee: 1/26/2015 11:34:59 AMDear with it. Makes the new ones worth to get. It's also the only way to make weapons more effective in raids. As when you surpass enemy levels, nothing changes to your damage output. Though the weapon dmg stay does make a difference.

Yes i would do it again. But since bungie already stated they made mistakes with this during launch of TDB, there is a small change we only need to upgrade it to new light level. So not re-upgradding everything. Altho i do think it is a normal thing. If it only was a bit cheaper and/or that you can decide when you want to upgrade that weapon instead of hoping for xur to bring it...

I fine with new armour but the gun max damage should stay the same. We should be able to choose the guns we like. For example, if i want to use the devil you know in pve i should be able to. Bungie should release new guns with the same attack value but different stats and perks to entice to use it but we would still have the choice to use older guns

ACTUALLY you're exotics will most likely stay maxed when you trade them in with xur. Not sure if this is confirmed or not but I saw a video on it today on YouTube. The user who uploaded the video was MoreConsole. Go ahead and take a look at it.

I won't do it again. Having to fully re-level multiple exotics last time is a big part of what burned me out on destiny. If they want to allow you to upgrade exotics they need to be smart, let new exotics drop at the new damage and have the gunsmith sell "Weapon mastery bounties". Have the bounty be a combination of different things say X amount of head shots, X amount of kills in a night fall, X amount of _____ enemy kills and so forth. Take that bounty back to the gunsmith when done and he changes your exotic to the new max weapon damage. Make it so you still have to work to get the damage upgrade, but the work isn't re-leveling the gun and having to unlock what perks you like on the gun again. There are many things I'm sure they could do besides making you re level the gun fully. If they go that route again I wont care because #1 I won't do it and 32 once I beat the How Raid on hard I'm probably done with destiny for good unless bungie changes how they are treating it.

I would rather see an upgrade that requires the exotic to be fully upgraded. It will require the same amount of work but at least previous progress wont be thrown away.

3 RepliesI'd trade the game in straight away. It is absolutely non sensical to assume that players will be happy to re-do their exotics for the third time. The fact that it has happened already simply confirms that the game is so thin on content that there was no other real way of prolong the life of the game. Anything that Activision lays their hands on just seems to turn to shit.
