House of Wolves will increase the damage to 362, you will have to reset all your exotics, again.
How would you feel about that?
Personally I think that might be the final nail in Destiny's coffin, for me at least. Extending playtime be resetting progress isn't a good mechanic at all in my opinion.

I know about this, doesn't change the hypothetical question and Bungie have gone back on things before.

If it were to happen again, I would not spend all that time re-upgrading everything. Coming from someone who has been playing Destiny since the beta and waited in like at midnight at GameStop to get it, I would quit the game. Bungie keeps f-cking up and they know it. I love Destiny and hate it at the same time. It's just so disappointing at times.

The upgrading exotics is such an easy solution. Keep with the exotic shards, keep with the random exotic upgrade selection. But when you spend the shard and glimmer on the upgrade, it upgrades it to version three at the same equivalent damage levels as the one you just upgraded. So: Bare bones none upgraded exotic goes to be upgraded, you spend the dough, you get a version 3 exotic bare bones at the new base damage level. A maxed one goes in, a maxed ones comes out (at the new damage cap) One that's only half way upgraded? It comes out half way upgraded to the new damage cap. So simple, yet no doubt Bungie will find a way to screw us over yet again.

I only play a couple of days a week (Strikes & Raids) and don't have any interest in rinsing the same bounties again and again to level up the same guns that I've already leveled twice.

Yup I'll stop playing if they do that. I'm fine leveling up new legendaries. But exotics, if UVe put the time in to level them up. Then 1 exotic shard should be needed to hit the new damage level and keep all your unlocked perks. That's fair.

3 RepliesI'm not too concerned, I had to re-level several armor pieces (Heart of Prax/Armamentarium) and weapons (THUNDERLORD & MIDA) notably; its was a bit of a hassle but not such a big deal that I wanted to quit. When you consider that the weapons were maxed at 300 and immediately jumped a bit above to start the only real downside was the perks lost temporarily. In fact neither of the weapons mentioned are yet maxed at 331, but they are past the perk portion of the tree so they are competitive and effective for all uses. If I had time & bounties in limitless supply I could actually have a bunch of stuff at 331, but the challenge of only equipping one exotic requires tough choices.

I don't personally care, the game kills time for me and I do at least enjoy grinding it out. I'm used to MMO's and the countless hours needed to grind (Tibia, WoW, SWTOR, FFXIV, etc), so destiny really isn't as bad compared to those. I don't really complain about the length of grinding, because I enjoy doing it and honestly, I don't have anything better to do. Personally, I'm not all that important. When I'm not working or hanging with friends I'd play Destiny. I'd rather have an all out grind fest than a short lived game that will make me rely on death match and competitive multiplayer entirely to keep interest. That's just my opinion

I was massively against their re-leveling process but as of 2 weeks ago I have maxed out 20 exotics to 331. Only shitty part has been getting all the glimmer to do it. The biggest screw up is charging so much to upgrade armor. 7k plus 7coins or a shard is bullshit.
