House of Wolves will increase the damage to 362, you will have to reset all your exotics, again.
How would you feel about that?
Personally I think that might be the final nail in Destiny's coffin, for me at least. Extending playtime be resetting progress isn't a good mechanic at all in my opinion.

Having to grind exotics up to new damage is fine. Grinding to get the perks back Having to wait for xur Paying a shard to upgrade and another to max All nonsense. Especially when things like the dailies don't pass the xp to weapons and you can only level one at a time. If I have to reset all my exotics destiny is going bye bye.

I got over 400 hours on destiny and i still enjoy it but if i have to re level 20 plus guns and armour again ill be moving on just cbf wiping each dlc. Stupid shit

3 RepliesWhy don't they just add new upgrade tiers to the existing exotics instead of a complete reset. how hard could that be for bungie to manage? I don't want to see any exotics become obsolete but completely resetting weapons that you already have maxed out is just stupid. All the hours we put into leveling up our weapons and armor just to have to start all over again AFTER we pay more money for content that's already built into the game, it's ridiculous. Not saying I don't enjoy the shit out of this game but if you bought a house and spent your time and money to fix it up, you wouldn't go buy another identical house and do the exact same thing to it.

They didn't make you do anything. You found other 331 guns to play with and different exotics. You will find more and maybe keep a few really good pieces or just find the same one again who knows. Just play the game or don't. It's not that complicated.

1 ReplyI'm looking forward to being able to keep my favourite exotics. Each of them had a story for me how I got them. And they will start with a higher base damage! What's not to love about it? Upgrading them doesn't take really long and I prefer to do that and be able to keep them than making them obsolete. I personally think it is a very good system to carry over old weapons.

I'm not playing much St the moment I'll await house. I have every exotic except vex and shiteocasm, I have multiple of most exotics also. I have all the exotic armour I want as well, if it's rest it will take me a ridiculous amount of time regardless of bounties and telemetry to level them back up, reseting progress isn't a way I would have gone.

Upgrading my exotics the first time was fun, having to do them all over again for Dark below was not! If they make us do that again I'm leaving.

i have 14 full upgrated exotics + 5 full upgrated armors ( helms and chests ) if bungie will reset all of them, i promise u guys and bungie i will stop playing, because this is disrespect of my personal time.

1 ReplyI don't mind having guns reset to a higher base damage and all I have to do is regain the perks, which with many exotics don't make or break the gun(there are exceptions, notably the temporary loss of wolfpack rounds for the jellyhorn). Stock up on a few telemetries and you'll have them leveled in no time with 20 minutes of bounties a day for a few days. The gear "reset" doesn't bug me either. I've played MMO's though, this is nothing. Imagine finding a green or blue engram in house of wolves that was better than your raid guns or armor, which you raided for at least 3 months to get putting 3-6 hours in each raid a few nights a week (half of which is killing trash between bosses). Then having to grind hours of 4-5 repetetive strikes that take 30-45 minutes each on normal and then longer on hard to get gear good enough to even struggle through the first boss of the raid to hope that a piece drops for you and that some other guy in the raid doesn't get it instead. Meanwhile if a weapon does drop, it's stuck on that character. There is no vault with which to transfer it no matter how many warlocks you have. I look forward to the new weapons and gear, I miss the old stuff, yeah, but the dynamic and dramatic change in playstyle inherent in getting a new gun in a shooter is part of what draws me so strongly to Destiny. Mostly I wish the themes of raid gear were more dramatic. I don't want hive plating on a ship, I want the thing to look like it was carved out of a necropolis spire with smoky green flames coming out the back. I want guns that aren't only adorned with hive elements. I want them to look like I pried them out of the dead hands of some hive gunsmith deep in the bowels of the moon. I want the armor to look like a hive knight was torn apart and shaped to fit me, not just have some hive gunk plastered to the shoulders and elbows of something the vanguard is selling. I want it to look like my light burned through the darkness inhabiting the husk of some foul creature and reshaped it to be used as a tool to crush my enemies. But that's just me.
