1.Trading would only be random tower events like iron banner.
2.Weapons would be Traded only by "Primary,Special, or Heavy" Exotic for another "Primary,Special, or Heavy" Exotic.
3.#2 Applies to armor, except it would be "Helmet, Gauntlet, Chest Armor, and Leg Armor".
4.Implementing Trade invites, a player will be able to send only 2 trade invites.
5.Selecting an item and selecting "confirm & lock" would make it so one can't change the item in the middle of trading an item for an item you did not want. Only way to cancel the confirmation is to exit the trading interface. So no "scamming" would take place.
6.While both partners has locked in their item to trade a confirmation of the item being traded from both partners will take place to ensure both item and player safety will be ensured.
7.Once the confirmation has been completed a summary of the item and the price for the trade using only Strange Coins and Motes of Light as currency. (Strange Coins will be used for weapons and Motes of Light for armor.) The players will then hold X or Sqaure depending the console of course to COMPLETE the trading process, after all these confirmations for player safety and a fun environment away form "scammers". The trade is finally complete!
8.The price range will be 17 Strange Coins if the weapon is not fully upgraded ,even if only one more upgrade was needed to be complete the weapon. And 23 if fully upgraded. Same applies for armor but using Motes of Light.
9.Traded Weapon Options! A Borrow feature could be added where two would discuss before hand they wanted only to borrow an item they could select a Borrow Item option where it places the original place holder name on the weapon upon selecting Triangle or Y to see the detail if the weapon or armor. The Borrow Item option will make it so the item will now be a Borrowed Item and making it so that the Borrowed Item will be UNTRADE/DISMANTLE-ABLE.
EDIT
10.A Trade Request, an interface with two boxes and the First box would be your item labeled as Trading and The second box would be what you want. Labeled as Want. Once you confirm what you want, it would cost 1500 Glimmer. It will then put under an automatic "Mathmaking" and Trade automatically with someone else "Matchmaking" for the weapon you had put as Trading. Before confirming letting it auto match-make your item, it will take the amount of Currency provided to manually trade the item. Like 17 Strange Coin or Motes of Light.
#10 Is Long and complicated but would be easy to understand if it was infront of you and the step-by-step tutorial popped up whilst trying to auto-trade.
If there is anything that I have left out or any questions about this please comment what should be added on this topic!

I agree with the idea of trading, but I do think your idea is a bit complicated. I think trading should be similar to Warframe, where people send a message throughout the lobby (being the tower) of what they are willing to trade or trade for. After that, people engage in a trade, and they trade for whatever they agreed for. Trading should be limited to Rare-Exotic so there isn't any cheesing, but people should be able to trade for what they want whether it be ascendant materials or an exotic. I like your idea of locking in the trade though, and I hope that Bungie implements trading at some point.

Edited by Vandal_Heart_: 1/21/2015 1:27:02 PMMy ideas: 1) An item can only be traded once, and only to someone who has been on your friend list and in your clan for 30 days or more. Limit trading to one item per account per month. (Though still open to dodgy dealings for those with patience). Or 2) Have a vendor. You can give him an item and set what you will exchange for it. The item will go on the vendor trade page randomly 3-7 days later. When trade happens it goes to your postmaster. (user has no control over who offers up the wanted item). Or 3) Bungie vastly improve the "RNG" and have some guaranteed loot drops for certain things. e.g. first Nightfall per account gives an exotic. Doing the whole raid guarantees at least one piece of raid equipment, preferably one not already owned by that character. I know none of these things will happen, but since i cant bring myself to play much anymore due to getting nothing but shards from the mighty raid, i have nothing else to do but pray and offers suggestions that might make Destiny better to the point i can bring myself to add another 400+ hours to this grind fest.

Way too complicated. We need a vendor where you can choose what you want. >select desired weapon> select trade weapon and that's it. The bait is out. Tower people would check the vendor for possible trades and the transaction would be done through the vendor. That leaves no room for glitching or backing out. And it's in a 5 hour time limit. If no one trades, you get your item back. This could still be done with friends in the same tower.

Exotics shouldn't be traded only legendary down cause then people won't grind for the exotics anymore if they can trade Exotics and raid armor shouldn't be traded at all

Edited by azazael1717: 1/21/2015 1:01:56 PMI like 1-7 but not 8 or 9. Also some items should be untradeable, namely raid gear. Raid weapons and armor should only be available from the raids, this includes the Vex, everything else should be tradeable for an item of the same rarity. Edit: I'd also make trading available on the same schedule as Xur. Having it a random event would kinda suck IMHO.

Edited by Lumitoonz: 1/21/2015 12:55:07 PMi see a lot of ideas for trading and a lot are over complicated in my opinion. if its timed people will bitch about that so there goes that idea right away. just have trading where you can only do it with friends or clan members, items have to be of the same quality, and any item traded loses all of it's progress. that simple
-
I voted yes but not to your dumb arse idea Simple way is when you get a new weapon you mark it for trade, this means only duplicates can be traded and only ones with zero usage if you use or equip it then the trade option is removed. Trade window opens at end of strike or raid to trade any newly acquired items or previously marked trade items. Anything can be traded as one man's exotic maybe another mans radiant energy Who knows what's important to other players However trading requires all players to have done a certain amount of hours play with each other before trade is available
-
Good idea. But trading exotics? I don't agree with.. legendaries would become rarer than exotics. Trading legendaries then ok.
-
Bump! THIS IS AWESOME. I first didn't want players to be able to trade, but now... It is a great idea!

Why aren't you working for Bungie yet?
