The main problem is that destiny was released for previous gen systems which kinda held back the game.
If the game was released as intended, the Xbox 360 version will have 20 discs and needs 80gb hard drive just to install and play the base game.
Look at Fry Cry 4. It isn't held back by DVD-ROM technology and it is huge and pretty with loads of things to do..

The disc argument is not really an excuse that holds up though.. Not saying you're making the excuse, I've seen Bungie say it though. Several RPGs have released with 3 or more DVDs. For the old ones they could have done planet 1-4 on this disc, PvP, etc on another. Not like they'd have needed more then 2 DVDs, with all the extremely reused content. Let's be honest, for actual size used, they barely touched the blurays, and even then its mostly because they didn't compress the information much at all, unlike the mentioned Farcry 4, which compressed the hell out of the data. They even tried the half passed excuse of putting all the dlc on the base disc so we wouldn't have to download much on the new systems. The new systems... That install the game before you can even start. That stream install and download while you play anyway after an initial wait. That usually have massive patches every so often anyway.
