I've created a chapter on the Seventh Column Called "Those of a Grunty Thirst." I'm trying to gather members who are devoted to the Halo Storyline, and here is the Criteria for joining:
[*]You must have read at LEAST 1 of the Halo books. The Fall of Reach is almost mandatory; The Flood is acceptable, and First Strike is preferred reading.
[*]You must be fluent in common grade-school GRAMMAR. Any typical text-messaging bull-blam!- is unacceptable; i.e. "u r a dum-dum fukkn hed people u now tht." Seriously, people, if you don't know the proper use of CAPITALS and PUNCTUATION, then you're NOT WELCOME.
[*] If you don't know the proper uses of the words "There," "Their," and "They're," then you're not welcome.
[*] If you don't know the proper forms of "Your," "You're" and "Yur," you're (haha) not welcome.
[*] If you don't know the proper forms of "Buy," "By" and "Bye," you're not welcome.
[*]Your ideas, theories, proposals, concepts, and random BRAIN DROPPINGS are always welcome, so long as they're relatively on-topic. Any bull pertaining to Halo's release date or what the Flood is/are or if you think Cortana's good in bed is IRRELEVANT and grounds for complete omission from recognition.
[*]If you don't understand these, then you're not welcome.
I want to create a FanChapter comprised of people who know what they're talking about when they raise a question, theory, or an argument, even. I want members who will contribute, who LIKE showing off their mad literacy skills and open minds.
I also want to compile a list of great theories pertaining to the Halo storyline and newer theories for Halo 2, dug up from past threads in the forums. I've already gone through all of the Underground, and compiled the old Stickies, but feel i must again, for i may have missed quite a few. I'd check for # of replies, and a lot of good theories didn't get much recognition, so we'll be checking into that soon.
I want to create a database of these threads, as well as abstract, original Gametypes, Original Tactics, and basic info that we've gathered over our years of playing that may be new to most.
If you feel you'd like to be a part of my Chapter, Post here or PM me with your First name, Forum tag / .NET Screename, and a paragraph on what you'd like to do and contribute to my Chapter. Then include yourself into the Member Queue.
Check it out. Those of a Grunty 7hirst.
P.S. - If you have an honest-to-god Mullet, then you're automatically accepted. Photographic proof will be needed.

I'm interested as well - I can boast that I am both literate and competent, but I regret to inform you that I recently shaved the mullet ( Though I still have my 'chops) Your Chapter site looks nice as well.
-
*clap clap* He approved me, so with a great response like that, he will approve you. Trust me, that is a GREAT chapter, but it needs more active members.

I find myself wanting to join your chapter. I've seen you in other threads on other forums and saw the link to your chapter and thought I would like to join. Now I'm certain of that fact. As pertaining to the subject-matter I would like contibute, here is a link to a post I've made that gives a competent example of an idea I have. I do not generate half-baked ideas. Anything I submit has been fully thought over. Speculations usually aren't right/ totally right, but it's what I gather from what I see. http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=95658&postRepeater1-p=2 It's ideas like that that I wish to put into your chapter. The kind of chapter that you have created is the kind I wish to join.

All right, all right. I'm done with the pessimism. Seriously - those who have an uncanny and unexplained obsession and fanaticism with Halo - not as a GAME, but a STORY - then consider membership. Combining that with the literacy of an above-verage high-schooler's competency would prove your worth. You know it's there. Deep inside. Your friends start alienating you for how obsessed you are; your parents grow suspicious of the shrine you've erected of the Master Chief, made from bubble gum and side-burn shavings; your teachers are all fluent in the Halo universe, thanks to your incessant affiliation to the game with every project being assigned. Which reminds me. Go here for a demo.

Anyone seen that Spongebob episode? Yah, Texas sucks. Or, should I say, "Y'ALL SEEN DAT DEM DER SPONGE-BUB SHOW ON DA TEE-VEE?!!" Haha. I'm just kidding. Sort of.

I love this guy.... Spartan U R Trool3 Awsm! just kidding... I long for the day when the learned and literate reclaim the internet. The ' information superhighway ' seems to have been overpopulated with little busses.

You see, disease, it's EXTREMELY hard to convey emotions (like, for instance, sarcasm) over the internet. My apologies. Well, sort of. XD

haha I was kidding...uncle-blam!-
Im fukkn gnna dtry ur chpttr
Riddle me this, "anewerdisease:" What has no grammatical comprehension in his cheesy-poof brain-substitute, has no concept of the word "punctuation," and likes to eat things off the bottom of other people's shoes? You guessed it. It's YOU! Next caller. Yah, CANNON, It's not a Clan, but more so a CHAPTER. The Seventh Column isn't comprised of CLANS. Last time I checked, bungie's REAL goal was to take over the world, reaping as much mischief, mayhem, and carnage as humanly possible - and then some; NOT to give base to a bunch of illiterate dipsticks with over-inflated pituitaries, like disease, here. The Seventh Column is meant to provide a foundation for Bungie fans, new and old, inexperienced and seasoned, dumb and dumber, throughout the entire world. It has been constructed to provide a gathering for those of common interests - Multiplayer battles, Halo's storyline, and attractive women. No-where is it said you must create a chapter specifically meant to gather a bunch of blood-thirsty adolescents and launch them against another band of dumbasses. My Chapter is solely left open for those who like to dig into Halo's little bits, bush-wacking off the beaten trail, and feeding off the overwhelming satisfaction one gets when one succeeds. Not mindlessly slaughtering my enemies over the internet, verbally OR virtually, casting empty threats and meaningless taunts all the while. As a post script, I'd also like to comment on your ignorance to a good ol' fashioned flaming. Your statement has severely diminished my initiative to taunt you a second time. TOTALLY stole that from Monty Python. Also, I talk about dipstick adolescents with backing - I'm 16, myself. [Edited on 6/8/2004 1:39:47 PM]

And I didn't take the time to read the crap everyone else said in here, so I really don't know if your clan fights online. I'm not a patient guy.
-
thanks for informing me about "desolate". And uh, heres my theories. Big things will happen, guns will be fired, people will die, explosions will explode, things will be said, people will be shocked, and why start a clan just to discuss things? Are you guys going to be fighting online? I'd leave the thinking to Bungie. Go ahead and think, just remember that if you do go online, thinking about theories won't save your butt when you go up against skilled clans. Thought I'd just waste some of you space like you did on mine, yes I'm fourteen, sometimes an idiot (by my standards), and I never really knew the meaning of desolate, I heard it used on a t.v. show and thought it sounded cool, anyway its changed now. Think and say what you want to about me, I don't care. I've been in enough flame wars to learn not to care anymore.
