There fundamental beliefs are different.

Personally I don't see how Catholicism and Christianity should be considered two separate religions. I was Protestant and I went to a Catholic school, and no one ever told me that Catholicism isn't Christianity. They believe in the same things, the same book, the only difference I can see is in practice.

Not in that way. People often associate christianity with chatolic since that's the biggest. It's like having a choice of Islam and sunni-islam.

I understand that people associate it with catholicism but just like all religions there are different groups that believe different things.
