Can an infected lekgolo be absorbed by its hive mind making the huge mind also infected? Or can the hive mind combat the infections control over its mind?

Lekgolo flesh can be absorbed as Flood biomass, however, the gestalt colonies are immune to mental dissection.
-
Soooo... Why don't the Forerunners just mass deploy trillions of worms to Flood-infected planets? Because, well, we all saw Nightfall. Although, if the Forerunners had encountered the Lekgolo before the firing, then the monitor wouldn't have "discovered" their immunity millenia later, as that information couldn't be used against them by the Flood. But, if they hadn't encountered them before, why would they be on Alpha Halo? The Forerunners must of known about that immunity, since they put them on the Ring knowing that it wouldn't kill them. So, why not use them as a weapon?
-
That's the thing. They aren't biologically immune.
-
But, any form of organic matter can be consumed by the Flood biomass, though not all can be infected and controlled. In this case, Lekgolo are immune to Flood Infection.
-
Doesn't really matter. You're still throwing them the equivalent of cardboard soldiers.
-
If that was the case then why did they bother locking them away beneath Alpha Halo like the Flood? And yet somehow the Flood was destroyed when Master Chief destroyed the ring and the Lekgolo colonies were not? Also, why bother putting them on a Halo ring if they were immune to it? Wouldn't it just be easier to leave them on their homeworld instead? Why bother with the extra effort if the end result is the same?
If that was the case then why did they bother locking them away beneath Alpha Halo like the Flood?
Who knows. I suspect that despite their biological vulnerability, the Forerunners were most curious about their colonies' inability to be mentally dissected by the Flood.
And yet somehow the Flood was destroyed when Master Chief destroyed the ring and the Lekgolo colonies were not?
The Flood were not on every part of the ring. Additionally, wherever the Lekgolo were being stored in most likely shielded them from the extreme heat.

But why wouldn't the Flood chambers have that same protection, let alone more protection? There is one other thing, though. Why don't those Sanghelli Zealots just bring a Hunter with them to communicate with the local population? Surely they would have tried that, since there isn't any other threat as long as you're there at night. I'm guessing that these Lekgolo are incapable of communication with their more contemporary brethren. Though this asks a better question, why didn't the Covenant deploy Lekgolo in the same way as on Alpha Fragment?
But why wouldn't the Flood chambers have that same protection, let alone more protection?
1. The Flood were released 2. Who says the Flood Research Facilities are on every section of the ring?
Why don't those Sanghelli Zealots just bring a Hunter with them to communicate with the local population?
It'd be the equivalent of going back in time 100,000 years and trying to talk to prehistoric humans in Africa.
Though this asks a better question, why didn't the Covenant deploy Lekgolo in the same way as on Alpha Fragment?
The colonies serve different purposes. That and the Covenant themselves barely know anything about Lekgolo society.

I forgot how fun discussing Halo lore was. I really should return to the Halo Forums. It's been more than 6 months.

If you're interested in a community dedicated to Halo's lore, join the Halo Archive. I and a lot of the old guard from the Bungie Universe forum built that community when this site went downhill.
