The 2 well respected video bloggers who "debunked" the notion of the Speakers Emblems doing any buffs USED THE WRONG DAMN EMBLEMS AND I FINALLY FIGURED OUT WHY. The first debunking involved using Blessing of the Gifted during a kill spree engram run in a loot cave on earth. He proved he got more engrams with a regular emblem in a side by side video comparison. Problem is Blessing of the Gifted is for better Cryptarch Conversion not for loot drops. There are any number of emblems that would have worked, he chose one of the few that wouldn't do crap in that situation. He could have used Blessing of the Zealot (better & more loot drops from Fallen), Blessing of the Ancients (better & more loot drops from majors and ultras), Blessing of the Speaker (better and more drops the higher light level you are), Blessing of the Worlds (better and more engram drops though out the game), or even Blessing of the Joined (better or more loot drops while in a fireteam). Of course he went with the Gifted. Doh! The second "debunking" video had to do with Blessing of IV. For whatever reason this guy thought (and a lot of wrong lists have it this way) Blessinng of IV was for better stuff from Chests. How you get that from IV I have no clue. Blessing of IV is for better and more loot drops from Cabal. However, all of the other emblems are actually pretty obvious (blessing of Sentinal=vex, Knight=Hive, Skeptic=End rolls, Unmade=breaking down materials and better and more loot from chests, blessing of the watcher=better chests & end rolls). Hey DeeJ!!!! How about a little tip of the cap to the guy who cracked the code? UPDATE 11/30 THE ONE ABOUT IGNORING THE THIN LINES ON BLESSING OF THE ZEALOT: Look at it, see the lines that make the arches? See how at the top they're thick and as they go down the sides they get thin? Pretend the thin parts of the lines that make the arches aren't there. Now look at it. What is it class? That's right it's a goblin. Look at it and then look at the symbol die for the oracle disrupted perk. BLESSING OF THE SENTINEL IS FOR FALLEN. They make a lot of robots to help them like shanks and servitors. And the banner part of the emblem is a Fallen Hieroglyphic that can be found on the wall in the very first part of that big cave on Venus in ember caves where that ultra fallen pops out with his entourage while you're doing the chest run in there. UPDATE 12/7 THE ONE ABOUT THE INVISIBLE EMBLEM UPGRADES: Clan members and myself report it appears the emblems are like any other gear and need to be upgraded. After having my blessing of the gifted on in the tower whenever I did anything. After about a week of cashing in all bounties with it on and decrypting evey engram with it on ALL HELL STARTED TO BREAK LOOSE IN A GOOD WAY! First I had a Cryptarch package decode into 2 LEGENDARY engrams. I then had a legendary engram turn into an exotic and then over the course of the last 8 days I've had 6 rare engrams turn into legendary items. 4 guns I didn't have with crazy variant perks and 2 pairs of gauntlets I didn't have. THE ONE ABOUT THE BLESSING OF THE ANCIENTS AND EXOTICS: Clan members report higher exotic drops in crucible and nightfall missions with blessing of the ancients. I myself got my first exotic bounty in like a month (the thorn bounty has been sitting in my inventory the entire time) while wearing blessing of the ancients for the first time while cashing in bounties. This testing theory is still in testing but looks promising to date. UPDATE 12/7 Part 2 THE ONE WHEN WE REALIZED WE WERE WRONG AGAIN BECAUSE SPINNING SQUARES TIPPED US OFF: It has long bothered us why Blessing of the Speaker seemed to be the only one whose graphic didn't tell the story of what the emblem did (ANCIENTS-first to circles highlighted yellow signifying the first 2 levels of enemies, with yellow health bars no less; GIFTED-an image of a 3d box within another 3D box signifying better Cryptarch conversion; JOINED-an image of 3 molecules joined together at the atomic level signifying while in a fireteam; KNIGHT-an image of identical knight helmets signifying the an enemy race that has Knights and a bee-like collective mind which are Hive; UNMADE-a pic of 4 things being forced together as one by surrounding outside forces signifying materials needed for upgrading weapons and the activities that supply them I.e chest runs, public events, and breaking down existing legendary/exotic items; SENTINEL- a picture of a vaguely shank-shaped robot head with a Fallen hieroglyphic in the banner part of the emblem; WATCHER: an eye that is split in two halves with each half of the square being a different color. One white, the other one a real color which is a mixture of green and blue. The background color of the material squares you get out of chests like relic iron or whatever is white, while engrams you hope to get from end rolls most commonly will be green and then when you get a high enough level, blue. White side signifys chests, teal side signifys endrolls. The eye and title signify this is the emblem that helps when you're not actually playing but just sitting "watching". And when are you just sitting watching while playing the game? (Other than loading screens) During the endrolls and when you're watching to see what's gonna pop out of the chest you just opened! WORLDS- a picture of 6 rare blue engrams over 3 green engrams against s background of purple. Signifying more blue engrams will drop than green and there will constantly be real chance of legendarys to fall in the background. IV- a picture of the Roman numeral 4, signifying the 4th planet and a 1974 Russian space mission to send an orbiter into orbit around Mars that ultimately failed orbital insertion due to computer malfunction (who are on Mars screwing with the cabal? Where did we discover the traveler? Yep the story goes that deep people noones giving the storytellers at Bungie enough credit cause so much is still yet to be revealed. That brings us to Blessing of the SPEAKER and Blessing of the SKEPTIC. We thought the blessing of the skeptic was like a slot machine situation, that's why there were 3 of the same graphic on top of one another vertically. That's what we thought. That's what a lot of not every list I've seen out there say it is for. For end rolls. The slot machine interpretation made sense, and since evey lost out there says its for endrolls it made a lot of sense actually. But the Blessing of the Speaker bothered me. How did that graphic tell the story of "the higher light level you are"? How did it tell the story about any sort of progression in any way. It bothered me. Then I was looking at the blessing of the skeptic upside down by chance. It occurred to me: What if it's not a slot machine? What if it's A SUN THAT IS RISING? As a sun rises higher and higher in the sky ITS GETS MORE and MORE LIGHT OUTSIDE IN THE MORNING! So what if blessing of the SKEPTIC was really The Higher light level you are instead of SPEAKER? That would mean that the speaker would have to be end rolls. But why would it be called The SKEPTIC for the higher light level you are category? The Cult of The Trinary Star is a cult that curses the travelers light and believes that the travler brought this calamity upon us and that guardians make their own fate. Why would the Speaker carry this cloak? Didn't make sense. Then I played through story mode again. When you beat the story mode and you're back at the tower for the celebration ceremony and the speaker gives a speech right before it cuts to a different room with just you and the stranger, he talks about how "too long we've cowered below a broken god" Does that sound like someone who is like 1000% loyal to the traveler? Or does that sound straight out of a possible Sunday sermon in a Cult of the Trinary Star church? One where they talked about the necessity for GUARDIANS TO "MAKE THEIR OWN FATE" and stop relying on The Traveler? That the power of light to fight the darkness was better served to be used through Guardians instead of The Traveler? Blessing of the SKEPTIC for better loot the higher light level you are started to make sense. But what about the graphic for blessing of the SPEAKER not telling any story at all. If we were right about this it meant SPEAKER was for end rolls. How did that graphic for SPEAKER symbolize endrolls in any way. Finally it dawned on me. I was looking at a crucible endroll I had recorded via Xbox cause some lucky guy got Suros Regime in an endroll. It was the spinning squares. Look at the endroll. The squares start to spin and spin around and around a few times before something drops in there. Now look at the Blessing of The SPEAKER. Now imagine one of those old kaleidoscope drawing toys that were popular in the 70's and 80s. Imagine that old toy was shaped like a square instead of a circle. You would spin the square round and round while the fine pointed marker on end would make a design as you spun the square. Look at blessing of the gifted. Now again look at the spinning squares. BLESSING OF THE SPEAKER= ENDROLLS (shout out to the spinning squares) BLESSING OF THE SKEPTIC = HIGHER LIGHT LEVEL YOU ARE (shout out to the rising sun)
Won't hurt to try it cost just a few notes.
