Exotic for exotic, legendary for legendary, ascendant for ascendant, etc.
okay bungie?
You want us to grind.
FINE!
Go add a broker/vendor in tower that charges a glimmer commission fee depending on the quality of the item.
All traded weapons or armor progress will reset.
And trade vouchers will only drop rarely and randomly. (Praise RNG-sus!)
Only one item can be traded per voucher from both parties.
For those of you who don't know what a voucher is, it is a pass that allows you to redeem a transaction
Let me emphasize "rare" because a lot of people still don't understand this concept and insist that people will exploit this system.
It would be a waste of your time to invest in playing destiny for an opportunity to get a trading voucher let alone a gallarhorn if you ever get one, just to sell it.

Would it be fair if I have two gallahorns and want to give my friend one? I feel it is, Especially when the trade vouchers would drop as exclusively as an exotic bounty. To limit exploitation, add in a bunch of factors that would make trading a pain in the ass; that the only way you could do it is for BOTH parties to have a voucher, Have a ton of glimmer. Basically you could only trade once in a blue moon and the opportunity would only present itself to the most dedicated players.
As for the real world currency for a gallahorn. Any one who seriously plays the game long enough for a gallahorn to drop is not likely to want to get rid of it for actual money. Especially when trading vouchers themselves are as scarce as an exotic. Maybe more scarce.
Also, I have two gallarhorns and it is ridiculous that some people who play longer than i and still dont; And I can't just give it away to one of my friends for say his... hard light? With the amount of time I've invested into the game I would not throw away an opportunity ( to trade my Gjallarhorn for say another exotic I really want) for real world currency. Not a likely senario, I'm sure it could happen though. For an large amount of money.
But people aren't likely to pay a high value for a gallahorn with the chance that xur will have it the next week. Also there are millions of people playing this game that have gallarhorn. How high could the price even get?
Idk... let's hear some creative regulating to prevent real world trading.
-
I think you should be able to trade exotics with XUR. Each week he has different trade options. And it costs 15 strange coins with 8k glimmer. This would stop people from selling guns
-
Why not have a trade day??... like on a Saturday or Sunday or when xur comes on the weekends...no vouchers, just pay glimmer or even motes as a fee...it's true about the multiple exotic drops...I myself have 2 gallys and 2 hard lights right now...but I've had multiple monte's, ice breakers and many exotic helmets for all the classes drop..it's really not fair for the players who grind just as much or even more than I do
-
No matter what regulations you add, there is no need for trading in Destiny, and it will only hurt the game in the long term. People will get everything they want faster, and will go find something else to play. Then, they won't care when new content is added, due to how long they've been away, so lost sales, and the player base will simply dwindle faster and faster. The more Bungie is able to keep people behind the finish line, the more they'll be able to keep extending the race, and keep getting money from us. The instant a shortcut is thrown in, Bungie loses, and the rest of us lose as a result.

Should trading be implemented, Bungie will stop receiving any money from me for destiny ever again.
-
Trading would be nice, my friend could give me galley. But I'm totally against trading in destiny. It would ruin the game. I would get all guns, then what? I'll play other games cause Ive completed what I wanted to do in destiny.

You have a gjallarhorn. Why did you make this pos thread?
-
-
Definitely deserves a bump. Love the idea of the "voucher" option especially.
-
No thanks
-
I was againt trading, but equal trading seems like a good idea
-
There absolutely should be trading. Nothing is earned in this game. It's random luck. How does trading ruin a broken system? If anything it will make it fair.
-
No. Never. I don't want people trading a SGA to their friend who has gotten 5 G-horns.

Edited by Ozigrim: 3/2/2015 3:41:14 AMThere will never be trading in destiny under the current RNG system. Players would obtain items too quickly and there is Not enough content to keep people playing if they have no carrot to chase. A trade voucher system would allow people to gain items they really want even if the vouchers themselves were rare. The voucher bypass would allow you to control what carrot you capture. Check out this Reddit to get insight on the psychology of destiny's loot system. http://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/2itlvw/destiny_addictive_formula_detailed_by_bungie/

You think strike afks are bad now? Wait til you have people farming for exotics so they can SELL them online. No trading keeps the game from having a black market... And the game is better that way. The only possible trading option I would even be remotely in favor of would be an in raid trading. One that allowed for a drop to be traded within one minute of the drop, and only to a player that was in the raid at the time of the kill. Even this lends itself to a market, but due to RNG and rarity of drops, it wouldn't be as dramatic of an impact as an open trading system would. Next thing you know, people are selling Strange Coins, Motes of Light and Mats online for cash in addition to Exotics and Raid Gear. People cry enough about Xur's "Wellfare Exotics"... "Earned not Xurned" next would be "Played not paid". There is just not enough positive that could come from this to outdo the negative that would come from it.

I agree with those saying trading will break the game (and I still need a Gallarhorn...). However, on second thought maybe this game needs to be broken so I can more easily divorce myself from it and get on with my life! -Steps outside- the sunlight, it buuuuurrrrns! Argh :-P
-
No trading
-
But what if I wanted to give stuff away for free?
