My console didnt need to be changed, but my brother got one for xmas.. he could not get connected to psn.. changed his mtu and it worked, mine didnt need to be changed.
Why exactly does this work? Been sooooooo lomg since I studied networking.

The smaller packet size is easier for the server to process but causes more packets to be sent. The MTU determines the max packet size.
