I wouldn't do this. I did, and it worked yesterday for a bit, and now that I am back in on the psn network, I reset my network settings back and I cannot log in to destiny when 6 friends on my list are in. I seriously believe this method -blam!-ed up my sign in. So when I quit the game and got out, it kept this mtu sign in and my character/psn Id might permanently be stuck here. Thanks for the idea. This thread should be removed.

I agree with richyandjess, there is another post I replied to by Durandal, and I would advise against changing your MTU settings. Generic network admin here; and all you're essentially doing is just changing the headers on a bit of data. But it still could be grounds for losing your data in your account. Sony does not do this on purpose, but it is done. TLDR; if you don't care about your gear, do follow through with this fix.

I wonder if this will eventually be fixed. Honestly, I was/am a level 31 warlock and I might not be able to get in again, period. My character could be stuck in this mtu setting, which is why I can't get back in. I am constantly getting "destiny servers aren't available" messages each time I try to sign in. Although, the network takes 15 to 20 minutes for me to show up on psn. This is not good, and bungie needs to remove this god forsaken post because this might have messed up many accounts.

Edited by ViperB777: 12/28/2014 8:43:00 PMI would say keep it up, but put some sort of huge red warning at the header. ... so at least people know not to try this or at least for the folks that have already tried it to atleast revert it back. Edit: honestly, I'm not losing my hunter. I'm "10-foot-poling" this.

The hell with that, I'd like it gone. Friend of mine didn't do it and he lives 1 mile from me. He's on and playing just fine and we have the same set up now (mtu 1500) and I can't get in, unless I am on a completely different server. This was a risk factor and I understand that I most likely messed up my entire progress and game. I hope others don't do the same. So removing this article and having bungie give an update would be better for other gamers.

I agree with the latter of those options. I say delete this post once Bungie makes a announcement about the issue. Or if they have some sort of guidance on this.

I am just praying and hoping now, that my progress isn't gone. It could be? Still can't get in

Well, hope is the only thing we can do right now. If you're on Xbox 360, I'm playing Dark Souls 2. My tag is Viperb77

It's ok, I only have a ps4 and ps3, wish I could help you out there sir. I guess we can all just wait. I'm still having psn issues too, so that could be affecting destiny as well.

I'm on ps4 for destiny, tag is ViperB777

Ok, my psn Id is: RichyAndJess. If it works again, haha, IF... I'd be down to play.
