What is the Master Element?!
Weapons with elemental damage have always been advantageous in the world of destiny, but just how advantageous are they?
In this forum, we will debate, argue, and persuade until our eyes melt from looking at our screens, and a master element is crowned!!!
Who will it be!!! You decide!!!
Behind curtain number one... we have the hottie, the bright, the ferocious... SOLAR light!!!!! (Be careful she'll melt your eyes)
Behind curtain number two... We have the fast, the furious, the electrocuting... ARC light!!!!! (He fights like Zeus)
Behind curtain number three... We have the dark, the mysterious, the terrifying... VOID light!!!!! (Kinda like Voldemort)
And finally, behind curtain number four... We have the basic, the boring, the lame, the stupid, the old, the dumb, the weird, the depressing... kinetic damage... Yay...

Edit: First off, I'm going to ignore those who voted for kinetic haha just kidding. Secondly, I think you all may be too focused on usefulness. Essentially, vote on which is your favorite no matter the reason. Personally I think Arc is really cool because of the blue tint of the bullets as they fly out of your weapon. And because arc is mainly associated with the fallen, my favorite enemy. Thank you for all the comments and keep debating!

3 RepliesVoid is my favourite (voidwalker ftw), but kinetic is the most useful most often and I'll explain why. Void, arc, and solar all do bonus damage to 1 elemental shield but are resisted by the other 2. And each one does normal damage to non-shield opponents. So not including burn damage on weeklies/nightfalls, each of these 3 elements have a strength against 1 element, week against 2, and neutral on 1. Kinetic damage on the other hand does the same neutral damage to all 4 enemy types. It does not have bonus damage to any, but is not weak against any either. This means it does the same damage to all enemies. Therefore kinetic is the most versatile and the only element that you can use on any enemy without fear of seeing 'resist' flying out from an enemy's body.

All regen ammo weapons are solar (Icebreaker, invective) and so are the more powerful exotics like the ones mentioned, gjallahorn, and dragons breath

10 RepliesAllow me to play doubles advocate here for a moment. For all intensive purposes I think you are wrong. In an age where false morals are a diamond dozen, true virtues are a blessing in the skies. We often put our false morality on a petal stool like a bunch of pre-Madonnas, but you all seem to be taking something very valuable for granite. So I ask of you to mustard up all the strength you can because it is a doggy dog world out there. Although there is some merit to what you are saying, it seems like you have a huge ship on your shoulder. In your argument you seem to throw everything in but the kids Nsync, and even though you are having a feel day with this I am here to bring you back into reality. I have a sick sense when it comes to these types of things. It is almost spooky, because I cannot turn a blonde eye to these glaring flaws in your rhetoric. I have zero tallerants when it comes to people spouting out hate in the name of moral righteousness. You just need to remember what comes around is all around, and when supply and command fails you will be the first to go. Make my words, when you get down to bees nests it doesn't take rocket signs to get two birds stoned at once. It's clear who makes the pants in this relationship, and sometimes you just have to swallow your prize and accept the facts. You might have to come to this conclusion through denial and error but I swear on my mother's mating name that when you put the petal to the medal you will pass with flying carpets like it’s a peach of cake.

Gjallarhorn, ice breaker, vex are all solar. When i think of some real kick ass weapons i always think of those 3. I don't even use the vex and... i still don't have a gjallarhorn

Wouldn't say any is "master" but most high end guns end up being solar

Solar because I Praise the Sun Why would I not want to use the power of the Sun? Void is a close second though. I'd step into a void and never come back.

Solar and Arc. Most useful. And i have full set for them. Not void though. -_- 14 raids no epilogue

kinetic because damage types are stupid and completely worthless in this game. kinetic works for everything.

Arc. Hive and Fallen both have arc shields but they both also have solar... I would just say void is the least important. Very important for VoG otherwise don't need it.
