Bungie will continue the course they have chosen with Destiny and what they want it to be. Introducing a game with many new features is a bold move, and being financially profitable a success. My only resentment lies with the pretentious pre game release teasing of an epic story/lore/lone wolf campaign features of this game. None of that is actually in the game. I would have bought the game anyway, being an old Bungie fan, the graphics and Marty's music alone are worth it. The expectations of finding joy as a single player though were crushed pretty much right away. I didn't ask for a great story and engaging characters, but Bungie told me they were definitely in Destiny. I'm still looking...
Hope they hired new writers, that was what killed it for me. Would prefer just silence and Marty's music.
• nowhere does it say you should have lone wolfed it. This is a game made for playing with friends. Thats when it is at its best. Lone wolfing isn't fun when there is this much repetition.

  • Bungie did said prior to game release "Destiny is best served with friends" but had ample content for every kind of mood including lone wolf, single player. Many cut scenes shown prior to release hinted at a story, characters, with some depth, in game. Most of those cut scenes never made it into the game. Why? Who knows. Google those interviews, vidocs, etc, I'm too lazy to do it right now. I honestly would not have minded no story line, little story or none at all. The dialogues / monologues, any line uttered in the game is terrible and kills my mood. I listen to Marty O'Donnell's soundtrack while playing to mute it out. His musical notes tell a story far better than the game itself does. Story telling is in the delivery, it can be pretty basic. The writing for Destiny was abysmal and English is my fourth language.... Not trying to sound like an arse, but I felt bad for Bungie listening to the script. "That wizard came from the Moon" was just scratching the surface of how terrible the writing was as a whole.

  • The fact is you want the game to be everything to everyone, there is no such thing as perfect game, and Destiny is nowhere near there. Move on to something better till they add more content.

  •
The fact is you want the game to be everything to everyone
No, not really. I was just giving my personal opinion, which I realize, is shared by a small minority. What sells to the majority of gamers is the road most AAA games are taking. Bungie did, however, try to promote Destiny as "Everything to Everyone" in their pre-launch advertisements. Pleasing everyone is an impossible task, being honest about a product you are going to sell may avoid disgruntled customers though. Destiny is successful in many aspects, including being financially profitable for the corporations involved. Kudos. The Studio that made my favorite games is evolving, with new talents at its core and a drastically new approach. Gaming like any other entertainment medium is meant to... entertain and thankfully, there is enough out there so we are still able to make choices. MCC will give me hundreds of hours of fun. Not going to watch Dumb and Dumber but I might enjoy The Imitation Game... Which movie had the biggest box office? I'll let you guess... ;)

  • Sean Murray is a good example of how it's done. He is being very straight forward with the info he is giving about No Man's Sky. I feel like if I buy that game and it isn't what I was hoping, it's my own fault.

Listened to some of his interviews, agree. Edit: Although in Bungie's defense, pretty sure they were pressured to at least seemingly hint that it would please their old fandom by having similar qualities.

  • I would like to see them communicate what their plans are for future of Destiny. Thats my current issue with them. The lack of any news past 2 weeks has got me down.

I agree. You would think after the extent that they mislead everybody and how quickly people like me left the game, mostly because of that, they would try to release something about what the future direction is for this game. Honestly though, I don't know if I would believe them at this point no matter what they said.

  • Don't worry too much. The holidays slow everything down. If you enjoy Destiny in its current form, it will continue to evolve, in that direction. Some features that are not present in Destiny now most likely will not appear in the near future. But as far as game play, tweaks, etc., pretty sure Bungie is listening.
I wanted action figures so bad... Not being sarcastic, I love action figures. Fallen Captain! sigh...
• I dislike their lack of communication with the players. Take warframe for example. Their team makes videos each week about what they are working on. Destiny is much bigger company, and yet they refuse to give us any info.

  • The bigger they get, the least communication there is. I watch the old Bungie Vidoc and remember the interactions on B.Old... times are different. :(
