It could, theoretically, but it won't. This method is now quite well known. If Bungie were even considering dropping the banhammer on tens of thousands of Guardians, I'm sure they would give some sort of warning that they disapprove of this instead of just letting the 'Will be Banned' pile keep stacking up.

It'll end up being the same argument as having your power go out or someone yanking a cord or just shutting your system down. Several games in the past have had crappy net code glitches that were abused. All that happens is a fix/apology/new way to cheat. As much as I'd love to do legit runs every day more than half the groups I join just immediately say we're cheesing. I'd rather not spend a few hours looking just to do a 2 hour raid. If anything Bungie deserve a ban from their own game for letting something this stupid get past the testing phase.

Its a flaw in the programing not the network. The program with Crota seems to have a problem responding to the leaders leaving. All the other mobs still move and react its Crota that stops. This could be do to the way raids read to the party, could be something to do with the challis of light, or any other programing code. Thy have a bit of messed up code, it will get patched. Its not like some one broke the code and changed it were Crota spins around tossing engrams. The group that found it was just a flippen fluke. And people, like my self, have fun making him take a knee. Our raid fights him for about 4 or so attempts then knees him. Just play the way you want and when thy fixe it will have the new templar fight that only a hand full of people can do with out trying for 2+ hours.

The goal of gaming is to have fun, and the means by which we all achieve that goal is different. If someone chooses to use a glitch than that is their decision. This raid glitch is not giving anyone a unfair advantage, this is because the RNG loot system removes a normal sense of accomplishment and prevents truly skilled players from having distinguishable gear. We can still see threads from players who are great in VoG but do not have a Vex Mytho. The glitch will be patched, the amazing gear will still be there for those who want it in hard mode. A ban would probably be a bad idea as there is already more than enough bad press and community vitriol. Just my thoughts, but the community is on a witch hunt for glitch users and it's pretty sad. The game has many flaws and this one should not be the focus.

The banhammer only needs to drop on every fanboy posting the exploit to YouTube. Can you imagine the river of tears if datto or someone else big in the Destiny community got banned for this? People would think twice about posting these cheats online

We can make all the educated guesses we want (would it help versus hurt the heart of their player base, etc) but it is all just semi pointless speculation. My only curiosity question is would they publicly post a warning first or just start banning unannounced. Given that they haven't ever given players any heads up about significant patches or game changes beforehand since launch (so players could adjust their decisions and play style accordingly in advance - like sharding exotics pre-DLC, etc.), I would put my money on no advanced warning. Just my 2¢

Man, I just wanted to share with you all that I convinced my raid team not to glitch crota. I am the swordbearer & I told them we don't need a stupid glitch to beat him. They trusted me & we got it done. One of the guys in the group said that his other friends were trying to glitch it & they couldn't get it done. We beat it normally faster than they did cheating.

You can call "Network Manipulatiors" things like the lagswitch, which are also cheat tools (You can be banned for using those) Taking advantage of a PvE game design flaw is not a cheat and does not deprive other players of the game experience, therefore you can't be banned for doing that cheese. This still doesn't make up for the fact that it should be patched ASAP, however.

Personally, I would rather run it like it's was supposed to be. This one group I ran with Crota's End and they were teaching me what to do in the raid. We cheesed the bridge I guess making everything de spawn. I was disappointed, the first part was a intense fight, you and your group running and gunning with only one survivor left. Here we just despawn them all, no fight.

18 RepliesConsidering almost everyone above lvl 30 has done the glitch on crota, it would he a huge mistake for bungie to ban them. Considering it would crop out more then half of their customers.
