Competitive multiplayer has always increased longevity especially when it comes to these first person shooters, it happened with CS, Halo and even CoD.
I just wish Bungie would realize this and focus more on the potential it has with PvP instead of squandering the resources on worthless repetitive AI in PvE.

PvP > PvE
-
That's a lie, and you know it.
-
they need to focus more on the PvE aspect to this game PvPers get IB every once in a while the only event PvEers have had was the queens wrath which wasn't even good
-
Is it just me, or does this video inevitably come to mind when this guy posts stuff?
-
Dude, you are such a troll. Why do you start topics like this every day?
-
Ugh pvp when bungie -blam!-es their broken pvp then I will side with you....wait thats silly pve is way better because if I wanna play cod I'll hop on that shitty game
-
Needs more desu
-
Destiny was supposed to be an MMO What did you expect
-
Hopefully this game can change that. PvP shooters are a dime a dozen.
-
Considering Destiny was designed as a pve game and Not as another Halo...I have to disagree. "Come make your own story!", the hallmark of Dedtiny, Isnt an advertisement for pvp. The pvp in this game is merely an attempt to satisfy both cores of the gaming community. If you bought this game expecting it to be as heavily baised towards pvp as Halo, then I suppose thats just being ignorant
-
The PvP is basically CoD! Smh its worst part of the game and your missing the point if you want that from this game! I get what your saying but PvP on this game is cod to me! It the same running around in circles killing same people in same spots over and over! (Over and over is a theme with this game, said one) But main focus of this game is team work even though they missed on how to do that expect for the raids.(even then they -blam!-ed that up) This game missed the mark so much it's sad. But I'll take it over cod PvP anyday but wish they had taken a better look at the weapons and upgrade trees of cod or battlefield for this game. (Weapons are lacking) And wish they had put a more battlefield type PvP on this since you have such a large clan involvement. Be nice to do objective based PvP with this many people working together on large scale. But your wrong about this. But not wrong on the game sucking. It's sad really had shit loads of potential

when I got Desto i thought I'd play the story & live in the Crucible. turns out the co-op element is what I enjoy the most. #VanguardForever.

I've seen you make many posts on the subject of Bungie only working on pvp. You're an absolute joke. They're going to invest time and money into making fixes to both so that both player types can get what they want, so they can keep their fan base size as well as revenue up. Understand? They didn't put enough effort into the campaign, which is what every review company is bashing them about, not pvp. You're just forcing an opinion out of your mouth without doing any background research before making a claim. You're pathetic; both aspects of the game will be edited, not just your profession. I hope you're capable of comprehending this?
-
Go play cod or something no one cares bout your whinging
-
They need to combine PvP with teams that fight along side NPCs. That would be bad ass.
-
since the "campaign" is already ruined in this game, destiny should go ahead and just focus on MP. find a way to balance it and make it competitive. the most you can hope for now is that destiny 2 doesnt use the same cookie cutter format for its "campaign" as the first one. giving people one more strike and another raid isnt going to fix whats already done. guess you have to wait and see what happens after this next dlc.
-
I don't even have time to explain why you're wrong...
-
That's like saying water is more important then air. I think you should have a bit of both in your life. Just my opinion.
-
I Jesus was YOUR son he'd convert to Islam... Funny you mention Halo since it has the best story in any FPS and if you don't believe me look up the number of copies of MCC sales than look at how many actually play mp...much smaller number...i don't think people are just staring at the start screen...orr maybe they are I guess you never know nowadays 😁
-
This is exactly what Titanfall did. I thought it was great and keep going back to it, however, others seem to hate the game specifically because there really was no campaign offered and completely disreguarded the amazing multiplayer. I do agree that Pvp does in fact increase longlivety. I also agree when a good story makes a game too (destiny has bad story, and splits Pvp/pve). I think a good balance of both is what really keeps the fanbases the longest (gears/halo)

I have been FORCED to play up to 50 matches a week (less if my team wins and gets 3 marks per match) because there are certain guns that I want which can only be purchased with Crucible Marks. This week I only need to play 26 (max) to finish saving up for my Crusader I, after which I will be playing only for "fun" and to have marks saved up for whatever new gear is available when House Of Wolves comes out. If it were possible to trade my Vanguard marks for Crucible marks, even at a 2:1 discount, I would never go into the Crucible. Destiny PvE is like playing the co-op missions in CoD, only freestyle and with more than 2 players, going almost anywhere you want. I think it's absolutely brilliant and it's what will keep me coming back for the next 10 years.
-
They are doing OK to keep the 'pve players' playing but most of what OP said is true. MP keeps the game in the disc tray For everyone comparing this game to WoW, this is a console game many of the people playing this haven't and wont play wow because they don't have a good enough PC/enough time
-
I have seen quite a few of your posts, and I have to ask: Why do you care so much about the PvP in this game?
-
This is an mmo buddy your weak pvp argument has no place here.
-
Pvp is trash, I wouldnt touch it if I didnt need it for vendors
-
No pve is better and I play both
