Lol. You'd hate WoW. They just boost everyone who buys the expansion to level 90 instantly, which was the former level cap. It's part of games like this. In all the complaining there is never a viable alternative provided. What Bungie botched was the need to re level exotic weapons from scratch. That was really stupid. They should have just added one to the upgrade tree and called it even, but other than that you have to give people the innate ability to access the new content immediately, or in a short time, and the way to do that is to provide the gear. Otherwise the complaints would be: - OMG I bought the DLC and I can't access the raid without continuing to pintlessly grind the VoG.

  • It isn't just the gear...the story is pathetic!! I mean there IS NO story...no the game is broken,There isn't any viable fix options being added because bungie would have to do a complete 360 on the game, and add tons of content for nothing to fix the game and no one has faith that they will do any of that anymore...

  • The fact that Destiny can be compared to WoW frightens me. I'm a console shooter scrub. I just wanna have fun. I bet there aren't many MMO's that have survived with the content that Destiny has in it.

  • Destiny cant be compaired to wow XD, and as a mmo gamer since 98 I can say that no mmo worth mention has survived more than a year with a comparable disasterious launch.

  • Stop comparing this game's design decisions to WoW, or any other MMORPG for that matter. They're not even close. WoW has two years, or twenty four months or ~720 days, between expansions. Every other major MMO has at least a year to two between major content releases that up the level cap, causing your old accomplishments to get reset. Destiny waited ninety -blam!-ing days. It's a joke of the most insulting kind because not only did they only give you three months of 'being at the top,' they also created grindwalls and padded the laughably short 'content' of the $20 expansion to make it seem like you actually got something new to do. In reality, other than the raid, The Dark Below added basically nothing. I finished the three 'story' missions (in which my Ghost was suddenly ostensibly completely absent without any explanation whatsoever, replaced by a hollow and contrived character's voiceover instead) and the new strike in less than two hours. For $40, WoW gives you - countless new zones, countless new quests, countless new pieces of gear in your progression to the new level cap, countless new dungeons, two to three new raids, new PVP content, new meaningful factions... I could go on. Do you see now why comparing The Dark Below and World of Warcraft is like comparing a -blam!-ing apple to a Goddamn orange?

  • 90 days is the COD DLC timetable. COD and Destiny are on a quasi-subscription based model that console gamers have been trained to accept. COD's DLC was always optional, and you could easily ignore it. And progress re-setting was entirely optional. And for superficial benefit. Destiny's DLC has refined the concept whereby a disadvantage for not getting the DLC is introduced. Missed nightfalls, dailys and weekly heroics. And a disadvantage for not re-setting progress is in effect. Lower damage dealt, inability to complete the new raid etc. I am prepared to bet money that Destiny 2 or a major (and equivalent to a new game costing) expansion comes out in September. A new game or major expansion every year (as in COD). I actually wouldn't be surprised to see Bungie expand to a three-studio sized mega studio, in line with Call of Duty developers expanding to three. It's interesting because Gearbox get away with it in Borderlands. But there is no gear leveling in BL. I think the big difference is in the multiple XP's, and multiple currencies required to level the new gear, and the low drop rates of such gear (which is all at piss taking proportions). Think I'm just talking to myself now.

  • Can you imagine how butthurt you'd be after grinding for literally years to get to 90 and then some Christmas noob just bought his way to 90 instantly given the tears flowing from you after a simple 3 month play cycle. Some people just shouldn't play anything other than standard games without the communal leveling component. Their sense of special snowflake is too much for them. +200 tears collected. Bounty complete.

  • except that you know, no one spent years grinding to get to 90, and with how wow is now, i could get a 90 easily in a week or two, and somthing tells me you have no idea what a good mmo or mmo lite is designed like.

  • And what? People spend 3 weeks per character grinding to 30 and get pissed because it's now possible to get to 31 in 2 weeks. So even if what you're saying is true, the people bitching here would still be more butthurt about it than they are now.

No for one it takes far longer than that to gear to 30 for alot of people blizzard while certainly a moronic company now rather back in the wolk days, still isnt so moronic that they would tie leveling to gear, and then proceed to replace that level 30 gear with a new tier sold by a facton vendor, People are pissed because pretty much the time investment in this game was made invalid by design choices by bungie. Why bother grinding to 30 to begin with when you can now as a level 20 jump straight to 31, Or why bother getting to 32 when the house of wolves is going to sell 33 gear?. Its simply shitty design, and theres really no way to defend it, Butthurt fans or not.

  • Why bother getting to level 90 in the first place if you can just buy the game and get to level 90 on day 1? The same analogy holds true. As does the bmsame butthurt.

Because world of warcraft has been out for over a decade and this is just now being indroduced, and most people would have laughed at you thinking sucha feature would have been made pre 4.06. (Before wow went to shit), when the majority of the player base already has lvl 70+ characters and its hardly a chore to level your guy up to 90, opposed to relying on rng to do it here and the game only being out for like 4 months. , and you only are able to do it for one character, when theres muitple classes, that actually are fairly unqiue, And its still not replacing an item tier. Its hardly the same thing compared to destiny. BUt yes, even the insta 90 in wow is shit design.

  • Added that each patch includes a new raid that can only be accessed by having gear lvl high enough which is earned from prior raids. And the insta 90 is only given to one character fog your 50 you can make.

  • I wouldn't be butthurt at all because no one 'grinded for years' in World of Warcraft to get to 90, they played the content from 1-60, 60-70, 70-80, 80-85 and then 85-90. Wanna know why? Because there was actual content and context to the actions you were performing with each expansion release. Not just 'keep repeating the same thing over and over all while crossing your fingers that something useful might drop.' You sound like you haven't even played WoW and you're just using it to defend the shitshow that is The Dark Below. Yet another parrot-like defender who is in too deep with senselessly repeating Destiny's content for hours on end to realize he's wasting his time and decides instead to continue to look the other way when it comes to Bungie's shitty, shoddy and deceptive business practices. And you're in the minority on that one at this point I might add. Continue to justify playing this game however you want. The majority has moved on and won't be burned - the proof is in TDB feedback, reviews and the player statistics Bungie just released.

  • Not everyone played wow that way. You're literally shutting you pants with rage over a 1 level catch up. 5 levels would likely make you vomit shit and jizz simultaneously. I'm not defending Destiny. The game has flaws that is clear. I'm pointing out that some people just aren't cut out for the game, and they shouldn't play games of that sort.

  • What you're doing is insulting people who think, apparently the same way that you do, that the upgrade system is flawed, the game is devoid of anything meaningful to do and TDB was utter rubbish. People aren't upset because their levels got reset mate. They're upset because they grinded meaningless content for hundreds of hours with assurances of 'more story, more weapons, more to do' (direct quote from Bungie's TDB promotional video) and got delivered EVEN LESS when they dropped twenty bucks on Bungie's empty promises.

  • The only person throwing insults around is you, bruh. You're raging too hard over a simple progression decision in a simple video game. Anything that pisses you off this much isn't worth playing. It's meant to be a fun way to chill and pass the time. Your seething rage is palpable from your posts. Personally my give a shit factor about having some new gear to pointlessly level was low. The lack of content doesn't bother me because I avoid PvE like the plague and there are ample weapons and gear for the crucible to learn to play against and with, and the PvE I do play, which is only the raid is forever interesting because of the players. That only gets better the more people that are able to play it so I'm all for gear being sold at higher levels than the old raid. So in short, I'm aware of the flaws in the game, but they don't bother me enough to be pissed about. If they did I'd be playing something else. This hanging around the forums crying about a game that you hate thing is just weird. If I hate a game I just don't play it and move on.

  • I hate to jump in hear but barnacle u were making some sense before but not anymore...he was right..about everything,he wasn't raging the buthurt thing was just a funny add-on in the convo that I guess u took as raging,he's making a clear point...no content,no content no content,it has nothing to do with them -blam!-ing us of our hard earned gear...the game is bland and u have to get off your console, get on your comp and then read some nonsensicle cards...that by the way MAKE NO SENSE to learn ANYTHING about the game...wich isn't very much.bungie screwed it up bad,and I think if he plays wow he would be a great person to take advise from on a good wanna be mmofps, wich IS what destiny was trying to accomplish hear no matter how hard you try to make it sound otherwise...shit defiance wasn't great but it had TONS more content in it then destiny, and a tenth of the budget...we got screwed hear because they gave us a game then cut it into as many pieces as only they know then put 20$ price tags on every level or 2 so far as we have seen anyway, maybe they will break it down into half levels at 20 bucks after the wolf one comes out...either or u both are saying the same damned thing just in different ways,so stop fighting over wording and trying to act like a dev and read and UNDERSTAND whats trying to be said to everyone, not just u but everyone reading this blog.EVERYONE who plays destiny had a collective jaw hitting the floor moment when they beat tdb...no game has ever released such dribble and called it 20$ content.disgusting...I honestly believe the BBB should investigate bungie,or the FCC,If you went out and bought a car then realized it didn't have anything but 4 doors and a shell of a body u would be pissed and u could go and report them and they would have to fix it or pay u back for the car...I truly believe the same thing applies hear..thats how bad I think bungie..AND ACTIVISION don't forget them because im sure SURE!! they led bungie by the hand to this place...that's how bad I think bungie ripped everyone off hear. This IS NOT 20$ WORTH OF GAMEPLAY,the whole games not worth that at present..ok maybe 30$...but hell Iv seen indie games have shit tons more content then destiny.they really did a horrible job content wise..and there only interested in giving u new guns,or shit like that..a tumbling frigging speeder to make up for there blunder...honestly I wouldn't mind having my money back.as far as your coment about him shouldn't being able to play the game...lord guy really? Its a video game on the most advanced console yet built..theres no excuse for what they did hear...but opinions are like assholes..and everyone has one,but iv seen this same opinion repeated over and over again on almost every blog.Bungie should be forced to give everyones money back,or fix the game, give what was promised,i remember them promising 12 new worlds, and tons of new story content as well as gear and guns..all I seen was a few new pieces of gear,a few new guns..and as far as im conserned NO STORY CONTENT AT ALL!! I mean wtf DID happen to your ghost?he just up and became obsolete...curiouse huh?we lost content if anything.this product should be held to the same standards as any other product on content...as I said before with the analogy of the car with no engine....Activision,and bungie should be held liable..thats how blatently bad that release was...not taking into account the horrible lack of story when the game dropped to begin with...but definetly the DLC..I mean 3 mission area's?REALLY?

Pointing out that you're shitting your pants with rage isn't an insult, 'mate'. It's just pointing out a simple, very easily verified fact. The fact that you even take that personally, 'mate' pretty much sums up your level of emotional self control. Ad hominems aside your reasons can be your own, but you likely fall into 2 camps: 1) The justice crusader who imagines that those who still play Destiny can't see the faults and need to have them pointed out endlessly. Newsflash, some people weren't on the hype train, played the beta and got exactly what they expected, a solid shooter with some other shit to do that you can ignore if you want. Then bought the game and it was more of the same. 2) The hype train rider who was all, omfg Halo! This new game will be the best ever. Oh shit it's not!! RIP OFF (insert tears here). For those of us that played Rage from ID games (another solid but anemic game that failed to reach the genre defining status expected of the creators of Doom) this kind of thing is expected. The hype train is always BS. If you rode that bitch it's your own fault.

I can now see why you're so butthurt at the game. You apparently take everything as a personal insult. Whatever, your emotional instability is your business. You haven't actually made a single rational point beyond your own subjective musings so it's difficult to ascertain what you expected a response on. A collection of swearing, whining and a protracted e-tantrum in truth barely warrants a response. On that note, good day, and I hope you keep enjoying Destiny, 'mate'. When you're done, please put your toys back in the pram, and put your dummy back in. I wouldn't want you setting that kind of an example for your kids. (That by the way was an insult, 'mate').
