I personally think that for $20 you get more than what you get from other games. What do you think?
Edit 1: awesome input guys and gals. I'm really enjoying reading everything you are all talking about haha it's a lot more entertaining then watching the cardinals get pounded by the seahawks. Come on cardinals!!

I got sold a limited edition for the price of standard game so i definitely think I got bang for my buck lol
-
15 bucks for Tiny Tina's Assault on dragon keep, that took me easily 15 to 20 hours to fully experience the entirety of its content. 20 bucks for DragonBorn DLC which was an entirely new game within skyrim 15 Bucks for Shivering isles on oblivion and it was an easy 20 + hours of content... You tell me 2 hours for story missions barely 4 for the raid.....
-
So far great, I love all the new upgrading systems
-
Far too less content for $20
-
As soon as they patch the cheesing in the new raid so all the -blam!- boys can't get the weapons they didn't earn, I will be completely happy with everything. Love everything about it though.
-
Since everything was already on the disc no it was not worth it. We have been deceived and got a shell of what we were promised. Fortunately the game that bungie put out is still better than most of the games out there. I love destiny and will continue to become legend.
-
I bought the pass for $35 and I think it was worth it.
-
Personally, I thought 20 bucks was a huge ripoff from the start. There are entire games that cost less. However, after seeing the content we got for the money, I think it's an even bigger ripoff than before.
-
I think it really depends. I bought the season pass so i really can't answer this. I have a question. Does everyone (including those with vanilla version of destiny) have access to the new gun/armors? And are able to upgrade old guns/armor to 331 and 33 light? If so, them yeah i think $20 for just a new strike, a few missions and a new raid is a little much In reality we're paying for a lot less exclusive content then we think. Especially if you're on xbox like me. AGAIN. This is all based upon what i said earlier being true

Ye'up. Destiny is one of the most fun games I have played in a long time.

Edited by jmferris: 12/22/2014 12:36:35 PMMiddle of the road on it, honestly. Have not done the Raid yet, but I quite like the Will of Crota Strike. In fact, it might be my favorite Strike in the game, so far. The weapons and gear that I have picked up so far all seem to be reasonable, in terms of a small move of the overall end goal. As to the Eris mechanic, it is absolutely awesome. Very similar to what I had recommended in my feedback thread. The fact that her quests intermingle between story missions, quest-based bounty objectives, and the Strike are actually a really wonderful thing. But the downside is that there just is still not enough of it. For House of Wolves, I would really like to see the Eris mechanic expanded. Not just one NPC, though - make it for multiple new NPCs, and also start integrating it with existing NPCs. They are missing a golden opportunity here. Speaker Quests, Cryptarch Quests, Shipwright Quests, Gunsmith Quests, etc. If they want to move to start making the dissatisfied populous of Destiny a bit more back towards the game, they would start rolling this mechanic out in that fashion, as soon as possible - and not just as a part of a DLC. So, I am not disappointed - but I am not thrilled, either. I've enjoyed what there was, so far. I may sway more towards positive, though, once I get to Raid.

well, i think i have put more hours into destiny than any other game i have played including Oblivion and Skyrim. The DLC has some great strikes and by buying the DLC i can continue the whole game without being left out to some parts.. Measured by gaming time and fun, the game including DLC is def worth it. I was less happy (understatement of the year) that i have to upgrade all exotic weapons and armor which is VERY time consuming to just keep what you already have (although, i become more and more selective which one to upgrade...) . It was not annoying enough to make me quit. Still addicted... Still wonder what makes the game so addictive (gambling/ RNG?) and so strange looking forward to XUR visiting the tower

Yes......Wait no.....Wait yeah....no....yes...no....idk
-
I would like to just say that yes I am happy with it
-
We get a lot of content for a DLC just love this game
-
$35 for a season pass? What a steal! And this is only the first DLC.
-
Which other games? Certainly not games such as borderlands or skyrim or bioshock or fallout, even CoD gets more content in the dlc.
-
Edited by dfeth14: 12/22/2014 3:20:37 AMCod dlc : 15$ 4 maps 1 zombie map MAYBE 1 gun Destiny dlc 20$ 3 crucible maps 1 new raid 2 new strikes 4 new story missions New npc with new bounties every day who sells new shaders 5 new guns (available for normal raid) And yet you're saying we're getting cheated for our money Edit: "Argument" (actually stating fact) apparently shattered by elitists oh no!
-
It's a fair amount of content for someone who plays all parts of the game. A pvp-only or pve-only player probably won't feel the same about it as someone who plays both. I would've liked to see new areas. All in all, i'm mostly satisfied with it.
-
I'm OK with it. I'm just upset they called it an EXPANSION and it was a dlc
-
You should add a "Meh" category. It's not great, but it's not the worst expansion in the world. I wish that every new story and strike was not a combination of mostly old areas and a few new ones that were previously locked. The game should have started out with like 3 raids from the get go and had a much bigger variety of weapons and armor. It's really a bummer that my end game is going to be me wearing the exact same gear as everyone else. I don't think they found the right balance between pvp and pve and at this point destiny 1 isn't really going to change that much. I don't hate the game, but the grind is getting tiresome. The only thing that keeps me playing is the community and my friends.
-
Tdb is alright. I really only got a strike and a raid as I don't play PvP, due to my connection, and the new story missions are extremely short. Is it worth $20? Ehh depends on the day.
-
Compared to other mmo games no it's not enough content. Sick of ppl comparing it to games like cod when it serves them but then saying its an mmo style game to defend its horrid grinding.
-
I wish the DLC had achievements, but otherwise very happy.
-
Why do so many people compare the dlc of destiny and skyrim so much? Dx that's all I see when I look at a topic about the dlc.
-
Yeah this might be more than what you get in other games, but this is Destiny. A game that was so hyped up for its story and massive universe that when the base game came out, everyone was up in arms. People expected this DLC to fill in some gaps and begin to explain this universe, but to everyone's surprise we got 3 missions (which don't explain anything), a strike which is really just to tie up a loose end, and a raid which is more of a puzzle than a story. So to me, this DLC is just like the rest of Destiny. Just sad, so much hype for bread crumbs.
