You guys and gals know what I'm talking about? When you load up the VOG and see a group full of 30s and 31s. You go to inspect their armor, and most of it is Vanguard Light 33.
"Have you done/beaten the hard raid before?"
"Yeah all the time!"
*[b]15 minutes later[/b]*
"How do we kill the Templar?"
"What's a gorgon?"
"What side is Venus?"
"There's a Conflux at Gatekeeper?!"
"Wait, those Harpies explode?"
"Why am I detained?!"
And my favorite: "There's no revives on hard?"
People. Please be honest. Personally, I [i]love[/i] explaining the mechanics of the VOG to new people. I love helping VOG virgins through it for the first time. It's awesome.
But please don't lie about it. If you say you know what you're doing, we won't explain it because we assume you've done it.
Now, what happens if you say you've never done it and get kicked from a group? Well that's a good thing. Because those people have no tolerance and patience (and time). You don't want to raid with people like that. You want a group that is forgiving, loose, chill, and can help others.
I love helping people. But please, don't lie. It makes it easier on everybody.

I'm 30, I'll run Crota's End or VoG. I'll say I'm a real noob when it comes with raids, but I know the general idea - may need some explaining though Teammates - Alright *explains and is really patient* Love this.

I could use some raid help. Yes I am a noob but I'm a pretty good gamer and I can hold my own. Granted a person is gonna need help in the raid but that's part of team work.

I've beaten raid got the gear and now that the vanguard gear is 33 light i dismantled the raid gear i now have the new raid helm and arms hoping I get the chest and legs this week

Ha, that happened to me the other day. Bounced out to destinglfg, found a group, got in, and tried it "their way" with the Templar. After 4 team-wipes, it became apparent that they had read up on this, but not really tried it before. I talked them through it (and the next few parts), and we got Atheon about 35 minutes later.

It's happening more and more. I have no problem helping people, but just tell someone before you start. I get more annoyed when we've started and then someone comes clean about it. We all have to start some where and people helped me, but just tell people before you start or shortly after. Was doing the raid with 3 randoms that knew each other, after about the 7th or 8th wipe with Atheon, one of them said, I htink the problem is we don't know what side is Mars and Venus. What? There was other stuff too, but tell us maybe the 1st or 2nd wipe or before we start

17 RepliesGood post. I know your post relates to Hard but It has made me want to go back and play VOG (normal) as I only completed it twice as I didn't really have time. The very first time I completed VOG, I wasn't asked straight away if I was a newbie so I didn't tell, and I came unstuck when I failed at what I've heard is the easiest part of vog, the jumps. They knew then that I was an amateur and were very cool about it and guided me through it. After they just told me what to do for the remaining sections and it was a great experience, especially as I got VOC, Corrective Measure and Found Verdict from it. I totally agree with being honest as it helps the player in the long run. Appreciate the post. Thank you.

I'll usually help new raiders unless I'm short on time. Add me on XB1 GT same as forum.....BUT don't just send me a game invite, msg me first please bc that is very annoying and WILL GET YOU IGNORED! On the west coast so I'm not usually on until around 2pm

This one guy in group was bragging about how it took him 45 raids to get to thirty. He then later complained when he got the vex that it was his 8th one.... I checked his grimoire and he only had 5 completions.

I will run VOG normal with anyone. Running VOG hard mode from start to finish with randoms is painful. People don't understand the principle of taking cover. When your Heath bar turns red hide and recover. Death is permanent. Hard mode is frustrating if players are not used to working as a team and the VOG mechanics. Just because your level 30/31 doesn't mean VOG hard is a cake walk. VOG normal is a fun activity. VOG hard is a stone cold b$tch.

A guy in the tower invited me to help me out with Atheon on HM. So I join the group and ask if every one has done the raid before. Everyone says yes. So three of us get teleported and one of the guys outside says "omg, its glitched, I have a shield around me". I was like "#*(&#@*&@#@)(@".

1 ReplySo I'm running VoG hard mode with my regular seasoned crew and one allegedly experienced level 31 randomer. At Templar I ask who wants the relic? Randomer says I do I do I do! We ask if he's done it before? Sure, lots of times, you can count on me! Ok then... We go down to the right side. After the second wave of oracles he's still not got the Templar's shield down. After the third wave we're shouting at him, shoot the Templar! Take his shield down! Shoot him! So he drops the relic so he can fire his BLUE hand cannon directly and ineffectively at the boss. We're so surprised that no one picks up the relic and we wipe.
