I am an old school gamer. As a female in my early 40's, I've lived a lot more life than the kids that surround me in the vast majority of gaming communities. I am an anomaly in this space, and don't often reveal my age. My close friends don't play games like Dark Souls and Destiny. They don't watch Twitch, much less stream on it. I've watched the ebb and flow of the gaming industry. I've played Pitfall and Space Quest and have come to appreciate the efforts of developers like Bungie, that strive for something new and innovative and different. I've met a few jerks on Destiny, but I've met some gaming fans as well. That take the good with the bad (every game has room for improvement.) They see the bigger picture. That understand what Destiny is really all about. Sometimes, when a developer breaks new ground they don't get it exactly right. But Destiny is a solid game. And while I've come across my share of adults behaving like children, I've also met some decent people that have a love for this form of entertainment. When I was in my teens and early 20's, I'm pretty sure I behaved as obnoxiously as you see here on occasion. But I didn't have the world stage, where hundreds of thousands of people could collectively s-blam!- at my immature sense of humor, my sense of entitlement, my lack of life experience and common decency. I enjoy games like Destiny, that expand our ideas of what a game should be, that explore new ground and are willing to fail in order to push forward and create something new. I have my complaints, just like everyone else. But I also appreciate what gaming landscape Destiny is trying to cover, that they are a business that needs to make business decisions that may ruffle fans' feathers. I've lived a lot more life than the vast majority of you. Years bring a bit of wisdom to know when a developer is sincere with their efforts to make the best game they can make. Thank you for those young people that have been willing to accept me into their fold, and treat me like one of them. This community isn't so bad. It too will mature and grow. I haven't run either raid because I've been too nervous to run it with a fire team of strangers. I'm on the 360. I blame last gen tech for destiny's lack of content. Larger maps, more planets, more guns, more customization, more exploration, space ship fights. It'd all be possible if it weren't for last gen. Let's hope destiny 2 is current gen only and has all of that.

It's an fps game hyped to the masses to get as many people as possible that has a pvp that attempts to take away from the kings out there and pave it's own way. If there was no pvp, you would have a very different majority of people here. Or if the pve was fleshed out way more and overshadowed pvp to a large extent You expected more? Your expectations should be lowered.

I've never watched Star Wars, or Star Trek. Never took interest in it. But I've always loved alien stuff so this game seemed like it would be fun. I play it once a day. I do notice a lot of negativity on here but I figure many of these people are little caty kids so I usually laugh when they try to act hard. The people I play with though seem to have personalities far from what you see on here. Most never even have come on these forums. Some also only do Reddit. And I'm guessing a large number of people who play this game also do not come here.

After the handsome collection I'm finding it really hard to go back to destiny. So many mechanics that I like better.

I still wanna know where BUNGIE explicitly said this game was gonna be an epic sand box space drama. CUZ I'm thinking most people had this absurd picture in their head that bungie could've never met

I have no proof to back this up, but I'm getting this sick feeling that Activision is pushing certain things through despite Bungies vision, however, being the child company, they can't speak up about it.

I think the problem is the that the CoD community is so massive and saturated with cash that the kids will pay money (excessive money if you ask me) for next to nothing so they charge for the game then bump the price up time after time after time. Sensible adults will see this and be smart, dumb foul mouthed kids will just swear at an adult and demand money. I appreciated this certainly isn't everybody who is young and plays this game but it is more common and a main reason I left CoD behind.

I've felt Bungie has gone out of their way to cater to the PvP crowd, however if that is true, we need to ask why? We know they can track numbers and I wonder if the numbers are showing more people are playing PvP than PVE. If that is in fact the situation then maybe that would explain why the majority of patches have been directed at the PvP crowd. I'm happy with the DLC and the upgrading of exotics isn't as bad as I thought it would be, Bungie just did a terrible job of explaining it and the fiasco of them releasing some info on Monday, only to release new info a few days later could have saved a lot of anger on the part of this community. At this point in time, we should accept the game for what it is and not what you may have hoped it would be. That's not to say it can't change, but if you aren't loving this game by now, maybe it's time to move along to something else. Yes, it's stinks to grind, but for some reason I keep doing it. That tells me this is a solid game as it's got me hooked and if you're here reading you probably love the game too, despite it's faults.
