I'm not 100%, but I'm pretty sure since the items that require radiant material are, for the most part, "raid items", they can only be obtained by participating in the raid or dismantling items that also require radiant materials.

True , also you get to level 4 on the new character Erin and then buy 7 ascendant energy to 1 radiant shard . Thing is that I can' t raid because I lack 5 friends and the game won't match me with anybody .

Just search the forums for your console hash tag. I use this for any hard mission, strike, and raids that I do. I met some awesome people by doing this and I constantly play with many of them.
