Take some time to reflect on how badly you (Bungie) have let us down this year. While you guys are kicking back, slurping down egg nog and watching your "not-*brats" (Edit: good grief people, get a grip already!) rip open their gifts, take a few minutes and think about how many other kids will be unwrapping a copy of Destiny and are ignorant to the greed and incompetence that went into crafting the most overhyped game of 2014. It's high time gamers come to their senses and realize what is happening in the industry. This trend of peddling trash for gold is disgusting, and Bungie has proven that it is more than happy to sell less for more to appease its publisher overlord, cutting corners in order to maximize profit and reduce costs at the expense of quality. So I hope you all have Happy Holidays and enjoy yourselves. I'm not sure how you will be able to sleep at night, but I'm sure you'll find a way to continue pretending everything is fine with your "magnum opus" of gaming achievement. Edit: So much blind hostility from certain community members! Why, all because someone doesn't think your precious Space COD is Game of the Year material? I've really enjoyed the witty remarks and name calling. It brings such great points to the table for conversation, and will certainly win over anyone who was on the fence about your position after you call them -blam!-ing ignorant. Edit2: To whatever mod "hid" my post; you can try and protect Bungie employees' delicate feelings before the holidays all you like, but the discontent is real. You might be able to stifle this particular rant, but as time goes on, more people will continue popping up and voicing their unsatisfactory experience with your game. But by all means, hide the post and issue me a "warning". I find it funny how you guys have such double standards on your disciplinary policies and will stamp out folks who don't align with your own bias. Give me a -blam!-ing break. Edit 3: Ok so after the hundreds of comments (many of them in support and a few just downright retarded) I feel like I need to clarify a few things. First, I don't hate Destiny. I know, shocking right? I mean, how could anyone possibly have gripes with Destiny and not actually hate it? I enjoy SOME aspects of Destiny, but most of it is repetitive arbitrary grinding in the same vein as many F2P MMOJRPGs. Grind, grind grind, get a small reward, grind grind grind. Some of you might argue that Destiny is an MMO. If by MMO you mean there are many people playing it online at the same time, yes, it fits that description, albeit loosely. Destiny is a hybridized persistent online multiplayer shooter, and anyone who calls it an MMORPG has no idea what an MMORPG actually is. That's an argument for another time. I think Destiny can and SHOULD be much better than it is, however by either greed or creative stifling by Activision, the game feels like a gutted, soulless husk of what it should have been, and that, boys and girls, is what is so damned disappointing. At it's best, Destiny is a mediocre shooter. I'm sorry, fanboys and fangirls, but the gaming world pretty much agrees that Destiny is fairly average and not "teh graytest gaem evar". If you have problems reconciling that Destiny is average, you might be shocked to find out that there are other games out there that have scores higher than 70/100 or 6/10 and are praised as being games of a generation. Seriously. They exist. Destiny is not one of them, no matter how much we all desperately want it to be. With that said, lets touch base on what I meant by "garbage for gold" as so many of you seem to be hung up on that. I was referring to the DLC content. It doesn't matter if you enjoy it, the fact remains that nearly all of the assets used in the DLC are recycled, and much of it is simply fluff that just adds more grinding to an already horrible grindy game. Yes, I have many hours invested in this game, and I will be the first person to step on anyone's toes who claims that Destiny is not a grind and the rewards versus effort are not severely weighted in favor of artificial longevity. We deserve better than recycled content that was quite obviously cut from the original game to be sold off later for an inflated price. Sure, 20 quid might not seem like much to most of us, including myself, but the principle of selling me something that feels so barren and empty and boring does not sit well with me, nor should it with anyone else who has any self-respect or sense of quality. The next point is a simple one that has persisted since VOG was launched. The myriad of bugs and problems related to VOG are ridiculous. Bungie's patching policies are ridiculous to boot, opting to patch cheesing methods rather than actually focus on the major issues that warrant players cheesing content. If you were a doctor, and you know someone has an eeasily cureable disease, would you just treat the symptoms, or would try to squash the bug flat-out (this is in an ideal world where pharmaceutical companies aren't evil and greedy). Bungie is the doctor who treats the symptoms rather than the disease. Baby bumpers for Aetheon, and randomization fo his teleportation, but never bothering to fix the horribly buggy portals or the self-resurrecting Praetorians that become invulnerable and wipe out your 3 man team. Lets also not forget about the Oracles that appear to die, become invisible, and then still wipe the raid. Let's also not fail to mention the end-of-raid bug that causes the raid to abruptly end, with no indication that you have accomplished anything. And Chatterwhite as a reward to take the place of actual gear? Are you kidding me? That should be an end-of-mission completion reward, not a drop Bungie. Methinks few of you have ever actually played games where loot dropped from difficult encounters. As I've said, I don't hate Destiny, and I still find myself enjoying certain aspects of it, mostly being the competitive scene, but even that gets boring unless you run with a group of friends or clan-mates. It doesn't change the fact that I AM disappointed with the way the game is being managed, and I'm disappointed that Bungie refuses to acknowledge that there is anything wrong with Destiny. That is probably the most frustrating aspect of all of this, that Bungie pretends it's head is in the sand, and when folks like Deej claim that we are heard, and Bungie devs are listening, but then they hand us things no one wants or asked for, that says to me that someone is lying or hiding the fact that they just don't give a shit about their players. Telling me to -blam!- off or that I should just quit playing does absolutely nothing. I don't care what you have to say to me on a personal level, and I'm not going to heed the "advice" of some angry fanboy who can't deal with the fact that people don't share his same opinions on his most beloved game. I'm not going anywhere until I've seen what House of Wolves has to offer, since I was one of the suckers who picked up the Ghost Edition (my wife thought Dinklebot was cute). So yeah, damn straight I'm getting my money's worth and then some. I want to make damn sure that if I choose to abandon Destiny and Bungie at the end of all this, my decision was completely justified. With all that said, I sincerely want Destiny to get better, because it has the potential to be something amazing. For one reason or another, Destiny is being held back, and when you fans brown nose the hell out of the developers and praise them for a mediocre job, you are reinforcing the belief that they can get away with creating less, and charging more, and that, my friends, is the worst crime in gaming of all. Edit 4: Getting up there aren't we? I notice that many of you are upset because I called people's children "*brats". Let's up the ante. Until you have contributed in the birth of your own little hellion, and until you have changed THOUSANDS of shitty diapers, and until you have spent quite a lot of money on those same hellions, only to have them get upset because they didn't get "exactly" what they wanted, you have no room to criticize. Ask any actual parent of children, and they will tell you that every kid had the potential to act like a *brat, so in essence, all kids can be brats. Do I know if the devs kids are brats 24/7? No, I can't say that for certain, but if their parenting skills reflect the way they handle adverse feedback or criticism, my money says their kids might be even worse terrors than we know. *shrug* Also, for you viewing pleasure: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UZ5BpeHVTWY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vWFBISbOFVs (Link not working on my iPad, apologies)

Merry early Christmas! I like to pretend that I'm DeeJ! I hope he doesn't' edit my post and reveal my treachery! If that were to happen, he might even post a recipe for gingerbread cookies. That would be awkward. Directions: 1 Preheat oven to 375 deg. Prepare baking sheets by lining with parchment paper. 2 In a small bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, ginger, cinnamon, and cloves until well blended. 3 In a large bowl (KitchenAid's great for this) beat butter, brown sugar, and egg on medium speed until well blended. 4 Add molasses, vanilla, and lemon zest and continue to mix until well blended. 5 Gradually stir in dry ingredients until blended and smooth. 6 Divide dough in half and wrap each half in plastic and let stand at room temperature for at least 2 hours or up to 8 hours. 7 (Dough can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days, but in this case it should be refrigerated. Return to room temp before using.) Preheat oven to 375°. 8 Grease or line cookie sheets with parchment paper. 9 Place 1 portion of the dough on a lightly floured surface. 10 Sprinkle flour over dough and rolling pin. 11 Roll dough to a scant 1/4-inch thick. 12 Use additional flour to avoid sticking. 13 Cut out cookies with desired cutter-- the ginger bread man is our favorite of course. 14 Space cookies 1 1/2-inches apart. 15 Bake 1 sheet at a time for 7-10 minutes (the lower time will give you softer cookies-- very good!). 16 Remove cookie sheet from oven and allow the cookies to stand until the cookies are firm enough to move to a wire rack. 17 After cookies are cool you may decorate them any way you like. 18 I usually brush them with a powdered sugar glaze when I am in a hurry, but they look wonderful decorated with Royal icing.

This is what we have to look forward to? Have our cries fallen on deaf ears? Have we forgotten what we all expected and hoped Destiny would be? Have we the players been abandoned by a company we all love? Have you ever taken a taken a step step back and imagined what Destiny could have been? Let me start off by saying that Destiny is an amazing game that does so well in so many areas (like game play and enemies)... but falls so short in so many points. Falls short is polite, abysmally fails is more appropriate. This game had so much potential, so much hope, so much expectation, and it falls short. I hate to say it, but it feels like a money grab. And with the lack of response to our complaints and suggestions, I feel betrayed. Let me elaborate, and please, save your comments, agreements, arguments, and insults till the end. All of the games trailers built up so much hype. We get a spaceship. A spaceship! We get to fight on other planets and across a ruined earth, seeing a darkness infested solar system. And the equipment; so many weapons, so much loot, so many rewards. After playing Halo, we expected epic vehicular warfare and were looking forward to see what replaced the iconic Warthog. Lastly we couldn't wait to live the glorious, enthralling story Destiny had waiting for us. And many of us, if not all of us were disappointed with the end product Our spaceship? Missed opportunity. Remember Reach? Reach did a good job with space battles. Space battles, we could have had that! But no, we couldn't even fly! The ship could have added so much to the story. Imagine going to Mars or Venus for the first time and having to fight your way through a Vex or Cabal blockade. Or stopping an second Fallen invasion of earth. Maybe we could have used it to chase high value targets across the surface of each world, dodging buildings and mountains and enemy fire. In true Halo tradition, we could have experienced a handful of crash landings and fought our way out to safety. And Multiplayer! Imagine what we could have done in multiplayer with space ships. Good old fashioned Team Death Match? Capture the flag? A game mode where you have to destroy the opposing teams capital ship would be cool. Don't feel like shooting, how about a race across space or the surface of a planet? Fighting on other planets across our solar system, its a big setting for a game, isn't it? You'd think so, and yet Destiny feels small and restricting. Why is that? Cause we only get to fight in four locations (Earth, Mars, Moon, Venus), and briefly visit another (The Reef). And normally that wouldn't be bad, but you only go to one location in each. Are the Fallen only in Russia, did they completely ignore the rest of the planet? Why are we only there? What about a trashed New York City? Give us some real urban warfare. Lets hit up the Antarctic while we're at it, make us fight to keep from freezing to death. An underwater mission would be cool, right? Expand our horizons and duke it out under the Pacific. Give us places across our world. One would think that there are other human settlements out there, not just the City. Yeah, they'd be small, but well hidden. Give us another spot for a mission to take place, help those guys out a bit, and meet some new people. The moon? Imagine a completely different set of rules for a firefight. You jump a little bit and you go soaring into the air. Could have used the jet pack for so much more on the moon. We could fight on the light side, and dark side of the moon. Throw in some history while you're at it (American flag, original lander). More stuff underground, more stuff using the near zero gravity, and just more locations overall. Mars. The Cabal could have had some massive Citadel that players would have to invade. Or in another location, imagine something similar to the Sahara, a huge expanse of shifting sands with massive, blinding storms rolling in and out at random. Or a craggy, jagged collection of red stone arches and tunnels and ridges forming a confusing labyrinth of guerrilla warfare heaven. Or Some mountain terrain with tunnels and cliffs and ravines. Use your head a bit guys. Venus. Give us a legit ruined city to fight through, another taste of urban combat. A real city, with real CQC. A shotguns best friend and a snipers playground. We saw some trees and whatnot, but what about a giant swamp littered with ruins and crashed ships. Or a jungle with massive trees and dense foliage. Make each location unique and unforgettable. The Reef. Was I the only one expecting the Reef Queen to call us for help, and we'd have to rush out and fight in the Reef (another good opportunity for a space battle). If we aren't going to fight there, let us walk around and explore. It would be like another City, but filled with space elves. There could be unique merchants there and new ways to make money. The Tower. I love going to the Tower, I can spend hours there screwing around and enjoying the breathtaking view of the City and the surrounding countryside. Shame we can't see the city or the area surrounding it. You know, explore what we're protecting. We're all trapped in the tower like a Guardian Rapunzel. We can't explore the city streets and see what life is like for civilians in this dark era. Nor can we explore the wall and its surrounding forests. But above all else, Destiny felt empty. The only wildlife we encountered were birds. Birds. You'd think we'd encounter various forms of alien and earth lifeforms while exploring the system. Something unique to each location. Perhaps on the moon one would happen upon wild Ogres, or maybe some tunnel digging bug the Hive brought with em. On Mars we would encounter wildlife larger than the Cabal, or maybe lizards or something like that. Giant snakes would be an interesting fight. Venus... Dunno. Insert cool native animal here, cause I got nothing for now. But aside from wildlife, why not include audio logs or journals from fallen guardians scattered across the game to give the world more history. Some intact books in scattered library's or dwellings. Same for dead Ghosts. Just something we all find in modern RPGs. Thats what Bungie wanted right, an RPG? Not the card things that we have to go online for, something in game, something real. The guns were cool. but they felt limited and whatnot. Four standard weapons, three secondaries, and two heavies. Could we have more? Like a grenade launcher? Or pistols smaller than the Hand Cannon, but ones that you can duel wield (lets bring that back). Or some crazy Destiny unique weapon unlike any other? Maybe laser weapons, plasma weapons, and gunpowder weapons, give us some diversity (laser would be accurate, plasma AOE, and gunpowder would have impact/penetration. Just a thought). Or a gun similar to a Spartan Laser. Lets be able to steal enemy weapons while we're at it. I love the 3 ammo sets, its simple and it works. Lastly, make more unique guns that are greatly diverse. You want people to feel special when they find some amazing exotic weapon with a cool ability and/or great story of getting it. Yeah, you feel great when you get one, but the sense of achievement quickly wears off when you see everyone and their mom using it to kill you online (or all your buddies talking about it). Same goes for armor. Especially with armor shaders. Problem with armor shaders is that everyone can get the same shade. Certainly, that looks cool if you want to look like a team, but what about feeling unique? I expected to choose my colors, not vaguely hope to win one in multiplayer. Why not have different patterns, and have different colors as well. You find a cool pattern, and now you try to find or buy the colors you want for said pattern. Different patterns/colors can be found at different merchants and areas and enemies (another reason to be able to visit the Reef or other settlements). Vehicles. We have three vehicles, and of those three, we have one human vehicle with no weapons. I know humanity is down on the ground, but come on, no tank? And what about hijacking an enemy vehicle? I was hoping to take Spider Tank for a joy ride, but alas, all I can do is blow them up. Its not just us, but all our enemies are lacking in mobile firepower. Was hoping for some new vehicle to replace my dearly loved Warthog, and for destiny multiplayer to recreate the chaotic Halo infantry/vehicle warfare hybrid we're all so fond of. Real quick, know what that third option for your super is? Neither do I. Remember when I said it would be cool to fly our ships? Will imagine being on patrol and seeing a couple of players chasing some poor dark spawn and thinking, "Wait for me!" Pull up your Ghost, get airborne, and help chase that bugger to Kingdom Come. And finally, the story. All of these crushed dreams and possibilities might have have been forgiven if Destiny's story was amazing. But it wasn't.. It was short. Know the last mission with the Black Garden, when Ghost says that light is returning to the Traveler? Was anyone else thinking, "No, this isn't the ending. Something else is going to happen. We're like halfway through right?" Then comes the award ceremony. "He's going to say that this is only the begging or something at least right? This can't be the end!" And then the stranger gives you her rifle, and brief motivational speech before you board your unflyable space ship to rocket into the stars one last time. Was I the only one thinking along the lines of, "Hey, I knew you for like two or three cut scenes, we aren't exactly close. Thanks for the rifle... I guess. Who are you and why should I care?" And then it ends. And we're still hoping that there's something else. But there isn't.

OK, this is dumb as hell bungie. I understand Vog is supposed to be hard, but I mean damn!!! Its not even reasonable how difficult the Templar is compared to atheon. Atheon is the last boss in the vault, and he's not even the hardest to kill (which doesn't make sense), the friggan Templar is. A full team of lvl 31's can't even kill this guy, and 2 of us had Gjallarhorn! If he's gonna be so hard to kill, make the loot drops better, because he's not even worth the kill anymore, just like how the wizards in crota aren't worth the kill. I get that the Templar push was "Cheesing", but it's different than how pushing atheon. Cheese atheon and get the best gun in the game (pre Nerf). That's unfair. Cheese the templar and get what? Found verdict? The sniper rifle? Boots??? Its just not worth it. Edit: okay I feel like I need to put this. I never said I wanted the cheese back. I never said i can't beat him without the cheese. I never said I didnt work hard for lvl 30. All I said was, he's harder than atheon. Look, I can kill the Templar, but it takes me a long time, (mainly because my team doesn't understand to shoot the -blam!-ing oracles but whatever...) but understand that everything isnt easy to everyone. Damn, you guys act like just because someone isn't as good as you at something, he should go die in a hole because he probably cheated to get where he is now. Edit no.2 Ooooooooooh shit lol XD NOW I KNOW WHAT HAPPENED. If you read some of my comments before, you'll see that I said that I could beat the Templar without cheesing. Let me explain this. You see, this is not my fault that our team had such trouble killing the Templar. Its because I was on a team that skipped strait to lvl 31. That's why my team was trash. It took me until now to remember that this one tool was wearing a full set of dead orbit gear and he had none of the raid weapons to kill oracles faster. Lol that's my fault. I should have asked those tools if they knew what they were doing.

                        • Hey bungie... I've recently completed the Vault of Glass raid. This would probably be my 15th or 16th time actually completing the hard mode raid. Ever since I learned about the "Vex Mythoclast" and that you can only get it from the hard mode raid after killing atheon, I wanted it so much. My friends usually got it on the 2nd or 3rd time. Me on the other hand, do the raid every week, desperately seeking a fireteam to help with me, spending countless hours trying to complete it. At the very end, when we finally kill Atheon, my heart is absolutely POUNDING to get the Vex. But, many times in a row, I just can't get it. This week, all that I'm asking for is a fireteam to help me complete it. I won't stop until I get it. Merry Christmas!
