public event rewards have gone to shit. Bungie have very purposely reduced the payout for ascendant shards in order to slow levelling of armor to slow players down. it is not a bug it is by design and it impacts players who solo the hardest... no more good strikes for non dlc, (capped at 24 and no good stuff) massively reduced payout from public events. new min 3 player scaling for weekly . added grind with commendations. doubled the number of engrams to rank up with the engram dude.. raised prices at the vanguard. stopped mats sales added additional currency stopped the exotic breakdown for ascendant shards. in fact bungie have done everything they can to -blam!- us over.

  • I agree... I actually think it's ridiculous just how much currency there is now. Not only is there glimmer and vanguard/crucible marks, but there was also ascendant shards/energy. NOW there's radiant shards/energy (only dropped in the raid, and only acquirable from dismantling raid equipment, and even the drop rate is scarce), but Eris also has her own currency to upgrade her weapons/armor... It's ridiculous. Don't even get me started on commendations, which is the stupidest thing ever. They did reconcile that a little bit, but only a little, by only making weapons and chest/helmets need it. I'm not going to buy very many of either one of those. They're trying to be unique in an area of gaming they've never even dabbled in, so I can understand the trial and error. But it's getting to the point where it's ridiculous. They should be testing everything first, for an extended period of time. I mean, I did sign up for the user research, meaning I should be able to research these changes before they go live. It's honestly not hard, and something they've already done in multiple areas. The solution is... it's going to be legen... wait for it... DARY. Dedicated servers to user research!!! Dedicated servers to a few things would solve so many problems (like the problems with the DLC content being on nightfall/weekly). They already have enough servers to support 9.5 million players playing an average of 3 hours a week* and yet they can't open up the servers a bit more than 16 at a time to allow more traffic, and free up just a few dozen for user research. It doesn't even have to be everyone who's signed up for user research, just a few. Maybe even just 100 every time they get a bunch of ideas. Then they could literally have multiple research groups running at the same time. It'd be just like banning someone, tag they're gamertag/PSN or the IP address and designate them to a server... Dedicated servers so everyone would be on the same mission. They're just going about it absolutely wrong. *This figure is a bit old, so it could have dropped substantially since it was given back in October.
