They really should. While this is purely speculation I do find it interesting that VoG drops V1.0 exotics.. if they made a blanket change to loot drops why would that exclude VoG? I doubt 'farming' VoG for the exotic chest was the issue either for 2 reasons: 1: you have to kill Templar to get there which means it isn't a quick spawn in, run and jump some then boom a chest. 2: you can 1-man farm the exotic chest in CE. As such I have to wonder if they are going to eventually roll out a lvl 32 version or VoG that has updated loot tables. Would certainly stretch their current end-game quite a bit since CE normal is 45minutes to an hour at most.
