The first weapon I fell in love with was a rare hand cannon I got at 16 whilst playing the Crucible; it had explosive rounds which at that point I didn't know you could get in the game. For some reason I thought they would be slow and unwieldy so I was pleasantly surprised when I started using it. Since then I've always gone back to HCs from time-to-time, including maxing Thorn and The Last Word, and rediscovering them when my first new weapon in the dlc was a rare drop called "Backhanded Compliment". Anyway, about an hour ago I made a noise I can only describe as a joy-squeal when I got TFWPKY 1969 with explosive rounds from a legendary engram.

I have all of the legendary hand cannons. My personal favorite was the red hand 9 until i meet the fatebringer. It was like seeing a girl that looked better then the one you have a good history with. Then you let your curiosity get the best of you then you find out she's better in bed and can treat you better. You can never go back you don't want to let go of the old girl but couldn't because the new one was better. so you make the dick move and leave her. Now you only see the old girl every once in a while ( in the vault) and just give that awkward look when you see her with your new girl with you. Yea it was like that.

I like how handcannons look like really big pistols. But they're not, they're cannons, that you can hold in your hand. It's almost like a handcannon!

Thorn 4 life
-
I have TDYK, TLW, Thorn and Fatebringer. Fatebringer is my favorite so far, mostly because of the explosions :) I would like a Red Hand IX or TFWPKY though :)

The new ones are absolute garbage. That's all you need to know about Hand Cannons at the minute.

Well, back in the day (a month or two ago lolll) I rolled the good old Devil you know. That along side ice breaker kicked many an ass. Then, my buddy got Fatebringer (about a week before me) and raved about how beast it was. I recall getting defensive and irritated that someone would dare insult my beloved Devil. This was a week when Nightfall was the Sepiks prime strike with Arc burn. When I saw the destruction bestowed upon all those poor little fallen I was immediately intrigued, but quickly wrote it off to the arc burn. I mean really, how could anything be better than this 13 round, stability laden, bonus damaging Devil! The next week I got Fatebringer for myself but still finished the raid with my Devil (quite effectively I might add). The next day, while patrolling Venus in the ember caves area I pulled out the Fate and scored a headshot on a Vandal which was in a group of 3. They all vanished. It was at this moment that the Devil finally met his Fate. The farewell to my Devil was difficult, I gratefully laid her to rest in my vault. The hardest part was telling my friend he was right. Good night guardians.

Hawkmoon... Every time I shoot it, a baby hawk finds a new home in someone's brain. I even make little baby hawk sounds as the bullets fly
-
Hawkmoon for life. Love the range, power, and sound of Hawkmoon.
-
Thorn. Love Thorn so very, very much.

Edited by High Charity: 12/19/2014 11:02:17 AMJust got Thorn, it's pretty fun. Going to be a pain to level though. Also have TDYK and rolled TDYD from a cryptarch level up legendary.
-
In pvp I use the last word but pve it's thorn. I started With Tdyk but exotics have that little bit of something special about them. Still searching for hawkmoon and fate bringer is a little overrated unless your up against weak enemies and looks too tiny.

Imo, hand cannons are the go to weapon for PvE. They kill most enemies with a single head shot; No other weapon has the killing potential to match a hand cannon. Even when engaging majors and high tier enemies their plentiful impact is outstanding for putting damage on target. Try running a hand cannon during your next activity (whether it be a raid, strike or mission) and notice how you'll most likely lead your fireteam in kills.

I have TDYK, Lord High Fixer, TLW and a new one called TFWPKY 1969, been playing with it, but not sure about it yet. Wouldn't mind Hawkmoon or Thorn.
-
Just reforged my timur's lash to have outlaw, field scout, and reactive reload. I'm just fine with 300 attack with that roll coupled with gunslinger.
-
I don't even have a legendary hand cannon (I am unlucky), but I love them anyways. They really reward precision and reflexes. The hand cannon is the real professional's gun
-
I have Fatebringer, Hawkmoon, TLW, and Thorn. Hawkmoon is great, but Fatebringer is my favorite because I can use Icebreaker or Gjallarhorn with it.
-
If the answer isn't Fatebringer, you're asking the wrong question.

Edited by Cambition: 12/19/2014 2:42:18 AMI just got a new baby from the weekly. Its called Venation III and its pretty dang good. It has some decent perks too. Insect me i have it equipped i think lol

Fatebringer

I love hand cannons they are my favourite especially against the Vex because if you hit them in the right place they explode
-
The Last Word. Got it from a legendary engram that dropped from a lvl 2 Dreg. Its like a rapid fire shotgun, I love it.
-
Hawkmoon is the best hc in game, throne is the next best thing, both are versatile n powerful in pvp n pve

Edited by LunaFV: 12/19/2014 2:33:38 AMThe Last Word is my baby. For the longest time, I didn't really use Hand Cannons (had a TDYK, but didnt use it enough to get the first damage upgrade.) However, on that cold November day, after a grueling hour in the Nightfall, those three yellow words on the side of the screen filled me with joy. Equip. Earth patrol. Proceed to pop heads. Instant love. It was the first exotic I got upgraded to max, and the first to be upgraded by Xur. The only weapon I have that comes close to my Last Word's love is Icebreaker.
