And if new armour and weapons never came out you'd all complain that there was no progression and everyone had the same weapons and armour and that there wasn't enough variation.
It keeps you working towards being a powerful player, and gives others a chance to be powerful to, with new and interesting weapons and armour.

Its not the progression its the way they're doing it. They could easily give us all new gear with new perks and new look. But they didn't have to change the max atk/def of "the most powerful gear" yet. They should've kept giving us gear but not change highest atk/def until year or so later. Not 3 months after release. Its a bit extreme to have to keep changing or leveling items every 3 months. Even shorter for IB(3 weeks lol) I think it's a way for them to hide lack of content. They give us tedious tasks that we're already doing then double it. Games with this type of grind are normally MMOs with a lot more content(not comparing just saying this type of grind is a bit much especially for this game). Thats all ;) hope this helps

Edited by cleverlyinsane2: 12/17/2014 6:28:31 PMI don't think the OP is complaining about bungie's decision to progress, they are complaining about the way bungie implemented game progression. I busted my ass in the last iron banner to get lvl 30 armor and the weapons. I just broke down my iron banner armor because it is now useless to me. The progression feels unearned and is happening too quickly. It's the way that bungie is pushing improvement that is alienating the core players.

Maybe the progression is too quick, but remember this is the first game of its kind, and bungie were not mmo games makers, theres alot of things that need addressing yeah, but just because its not useful in iron banner dosnt mean you can't wear it jn other pvp or pve types.
