4 RepliesI was beginning to think this was some form of elaborate global hoax and I had fallen prey to farming for an imaginary gun. It took me 3 days about 3 hours a night and just as I was about to say sod it I got it ! I dont think I have been this happy since the invention of chocolate covered pretzels (yay) Ahem.. Anyway it's real and a pain in the ass. Keep at it fellow grinders

1 Reply[b]I posted this earlier in another thread. Its a detailed walk through of how I obtained my HotP this morning. I only hippie it can help someone else get theirs [/b] I got mine in the second blade. You can try what I did this morning. It might net you one. First, run nightfall at level 31 back to back with two characters. Have a buddy who is also at level 31 who can do it with you. That buddy has to have a level 28 friend who he INSISTS ON BRINGING INTO THE NIGHTFALL. He must also insist that his level 28 friend can carry himself. One you begin, make sure the level 28 only gets 12 kills on the first round and 19 on the second. Also make sure he dies 20 or so times each run. The next part gets a little upsetting but just bear through it. Now if you do what I did, you should recieve ascendant materials the first run and strange coins on the second. Also, the level 28 will recieve the thunderlord 2.0 at first and gjallahorn 2.0 on the second run. Just grind your teeth a little as he screams in joy. Clench your fists. Shake your head. In that order. Once this is completed, tell your friend he is a douche for bringing an under level 28 in who got all the loot. Tell him goodbye and leave. Head to the tower, then go to the mission The First of Crota. The first run you won't get anything but if you run it a second time you will get it off the blade of crota in the level. I know from personal experience that this method requires a lot of patience and is a crazy emotional roller coaster ride from hell. Even though you had to give up your chance at anything good from nightfall you will recieve the HotP, which I know seems like a small pittance compared to the 2 exotics your friends friend recieved but we'll see who is laughing in January... ...come to think of it, he'll probably be the one laughing because he'll probably have it by then. It's worth a try. Let me know if it works for you

After reading HotP posts on the forums, it appears to me that the drop rate is significantly higher when you find Blades of Crota out in the wild rather than when you farm Fist of Crota.

Ouch, I got 2 in 10 minutes. (Had 5 attempts on fist of crota, also completing bounties). Kinda ideal, will keep 1 as Eidolon Ally and get the other upgraded when and if I get the crux.

I'm lucky I read this forum before playing the other day, or I might have dismantled mine. It dropped for me in a random earth patrol. Wasn't even trying to get it.

1 ReplyLooks like it doesn't just drop in the dust of Crota mission, I had black wax idols show up like a loot reward while on patrol in the cosmodrome AND on the moon.

Yeah I've done it 145 times. My friends got it on 3rd and 6th try. Idk how that is fair but whatever lol.

Got 2 so far. Did like 100 runs on Fist of Crota, got nothing. Then one random time through patrol, got one. Then today after doing the Blades of Crota bounty, got another.

I wasn't even interested on the husk and I got it right after I dropped in earth patrol lol

15 mins farming glimmer on earth and I get a husk of the pit.

Try running the Wiil of Crota strike for the bounty today. Mine was in my inventory after completing it.

I did it 2 times on the story mission and got it hahah. Friend did it all day and still nothing. Just luck or in other words... rng baby
