Play the strike playlist, rank up your vanguard rep and earn marks to obtain some stronger legendary armor. Then you'll have to worry about collecting ascendant shards. Running the raid should get you a good bit of em. Hope this helped (:.

Thanks, helped a lot. Does it matter if I rank up vanguard, or can I go with one of the factions instead?

You can do one of the factions but then you have to play crucible to get crucible marks. With vanguard you level up your vanguard and get vanguard marks just by doing the strikes. I personally think it's a lot better. Also I don't think I've ever used the word vanguard so much

Personally I do both at rank 2 you can get gloves and boots with just marks and chests and helms with marks and commendations at rank 3 you can buy guns with marks and commendations , commendations can be obtained buy ranking crucible/factions to 3 and higher for crucible commendations and. Vanguard ones buy ranking vanguard to 3 and up
