I'm having exactly the same issue. Been like this for two days now.
No idea how to fix it though.

I managed to sort mine out by disconnecting the power lead from my Xbox for a couple of minutes to hard reset the console. It might be worth trying that to see if it helps you too? Switch the console off, pull the power lead out of the back of the xbox, leave it for 5 minutes, then plug it in, power up, and try and load Destiny again. Hope that helps?

Thanks, I'll try this tonight will let you know if it helps at all. Really want to do the Nightfall and Heroic strikes tonight as i missed it last week as i didn't know how to unlock it.
