Free at last!

I hadn't put my hopes high regarding the DLC after the more than sobering experience with the Destiny base game. Yet, Bungie has managed to disappoint me. They have an incredible talent of lowering the bar even more with each patch and "extension". The overwhelming part of the DLC is recycled base game content, having the players traverse it the other way round or making them reach it on a different route. The strike is a ridiculous joke. It is easy as hell to cheese it. It is totally clear that the final boss area was never really meant as a boss fight arena. They had some small room with a catwalk and lots of machines, and in lack of anything useful, they stuffed Omnigul in there, making here spawn tons of adds every time some damage threshold is reached. The mobs cannot even really do anything because they are literally trapped in that small, cramped area they spawn in. This is ridiculous. The entire game looks as if most of it has been created by programming and level design newbies. It is pathetic to the point of being totally ridiculous. I also tried the new raid, and I didn't really like it. Ok, that's probably a matter of taste, but I prefer challenges that require you to think and plan. Stage one of the raid is just sticking together and dishing out as much damage as you can. The only challenge is the darkness (well, brightness control helps ...) and being drowned in adds so much that you cannot see anything except their bodies close up. The only part I liked was where you had to cross that bridge with the sword from the sword bearing knight. You needed some coordination there. Killing the wizards and the shriekers just required quick reflexes and mad boosting skills to avoid the tons of knights slashing you to pieces instantly when you got to close (level 31 character on my side). One Gjallarhorn missile per wizard, two per shrieker, and a couple for the singer. Tactics? LOL, what are tactics? Didn't get to Crota, but was told the wizards actually were the hardest part. Yet I have to say that compared to the ridiculous rest of the DLC, the strike looked like it was built by people who know their business. Apparently, Bungie doesn't have many of those though. So I decided that Destiny actually is not what I consider a game. It is just endlessly stretched out, repetive, boring work, offering nothing new at all. The most (and only) interesting stuff is blocked behind a difficulty wall. Like before, only a small minority of all Destiny players will ever see it; And too many of these will even have the cheek to mock and curse at the "casuals" who actually pay the game for them. Bungie never created Destiny for the "casuals" though. It is very clear that this game has been made and is being developed to cater to the "hardcore" players, even though these are a minority and not that relevant for revenue. So I finally did the right thing. I uninstalled the game and rid myself of the DVD. To those who say "Why do you even bother to post here": I do because I have spent a lot of time and energy on this turd of a game in a shiny package, and maybe this post will help one or the other Destiny victim to give this abysmally bad product the only treatment it deserves, and that is hitting the bottom of the trash can. Over and out.
