This would cause me to quit the game. It would take away all sense of play for someone like me who has enough yellows in his vault to buy 12 sets of raid gear for each character.

So because you got lucky, others can't find ways to acquire gear that isn't dropping for them?

Also there is always ways to get gear In destiny. I've seen people go -15 in crucible and get G-Horn. I've also people do raids and get raid gear and exotics with only one kill. So there is always ways to get gear. Just gotta pray to RNGesus.

No because I would have nothing left to want to do. I don't care about gear or drops or level or anything. Killing shit and getting gear I haven't already gotten is what makes this game great for me. I feel rewarded for the countless hours trying to get stuff. But with an auction house u could legitimately buy everything I don't have and would have nothing left that I had to do. Which means I would patrol the moon and sit in a corner like a witch from left for dead. But too each his own if the community wants an auction house so bad then I have no right to hold it back. I'll just be sitting on the moon.
