Someone else mentioned this in another post.
Someone said the sword lasts for 45 seconds, so could you nuke crota's shield while he is standing up to get more hits by the sword? Could help increase dps to beat engage.

If you have a good enough team you can put the shield down 2 times while the sword is active but you gotta stick and move with the sword. Hit him get away let them bring it down again then hit him. It's hard to do and don't really suggest it it'll just get you killed more often then not unless your a high enough level.
