Grand Counter Argument:
The story for Borderlands had a beginning, middle, and end.
Destiny does not.

Does not have a story I hope you mean

Destiny Beginning: Being revived by your Ghost. Middle: Meeting The Stranger and The Queen. End: Destroying the Black heart. Like I said, while the story is not a very good one, it's there, it's just.....not very good. XD

You could say the same for any game. For a story (no matter how bad it may be) to have a passable beginning, middle, and end, it needs to, at the very least, be coherent and form some kind of narrative. "See guardian; See guardian shoot gun; See guardian talk to people; see guardian kill giant black jelly bean; the end," is not a narrative.

Narrative: noun 1.a spoken or written account of connected events. The story that is presented in Destiny does not have alot of details, it's not a very good or long story, but a story it still is. But I do see your point, and in all honesty, the story that has been presented so far feels more like a chapter in a story that hasn't been fully fleshed out yet. I promise i'm not trying to be rude, it's just a So often I see people shoot down the game just for this sole reason, when really there's so much potential here for an intriguing story, if Bungie so decides to actually use said potential.

Exactly. It does have potential, it's simply not fleshed out. All of the events in the game have some related elements (The Darkness, the Traveler, guardians, etc), but for the most part, none of them are connected in any significant way.

Giant jelly bean.
