Reason for no Raid Matchmaking According to Deej
So according to this video and from what I read in the description is Deej he explains why Bungie doesn't want matchmaking and they want us to be social and treat the raid like a puzzle you're solving with your friends. Well I don't know if you guys play your game or not but after beating the Raid for the first time that sense of puzzle solving is gone forever and just see the raid as another mission we have to do every week.
You also want to force us to be social which for people like me is very difficult. When I join Raids with randoms I always say I don't have a mic but know what I'm doing and after about a month everyone knows what to do in the raid. Why not add some things that don't require communication, in the Atheon fight when he sends 3 people into either Mars or Venus you can clearly tell on the map which portal to open which is good. Fill the raids with lots of things like that so we don't need to communicate. I have Social Anxiety Disorder and talking to people I don't know is very uncomfortable and Raid Matchmaking would help me find people to raid with and not require me to use a mic, If you say you don't have a Mic on destinylfg or other forums there is a low chance you'll be picked to join that Raid. Allow Matchmaking after 1 month of Raid release to allow people to learn the raids before joining a bunch of randoms. Or better yet in order to join matchmaking you have to complete the raid 3 times.
Quit acting like you guys have something to prove. Don't tell us how to play your game or force playstyles most people don't like.You guys find something we like but goes against your vision of how we're supposed to play Destiny and you remove it like the Loot Caves and Athon teleporting the furthest players. When I play Call of Duty I'm not forced to wear a Mic and play the game using military tactics and when I play Battlefield I'm not forced to use teamwork. A game should allow us to play the way we want while not breaking a list of rules or using hacks but in Destiny you don't have a choice of how you play, level up or earn gear.
People wouldn't be forced to use Matchmaking so I hate when people say things like "Randoms won't know what to do". Let us deal with randoms while you go play with your friends.

1 ReplyPlease Reply Bungie! I cannot play the game thanks to you not having Raid/Nightfall Matchmaking. The game should have been advertised as a social people with friends only so I wouldn't have bought it. Thanks to you I'm missing out on so much of the game. Just add it already and make it optional for those that don't want to use it.

1 ReplyHow would you kick a fireteam member whos afk or just dont know anything when theres no leader ? I can agree that it should be an option, in weekly heroic and nightfall too, not a default. Some people wants to solo raid and weeklys.

I dont get it. You want to find people to play with? Use the destiny app! When i first started, i had no friends to play with. After using thenapp, i have like 20 friends to play with.

It never gets old. Matchmaking would ruin the the reputation of the raids. Imagine 6 casual players without mic trying to kill oracles during the Templar or running into Gorgons. Even a good group with 2 -blam!-ing casuals would be a shitfest. The raids are too complicated for having a casual matchmaking. I'd say that 1 group of 1000 would make it to Atheon through matchmaking.

Just go on the app and find some people. Not too hard. Matchmaking is un-needed as the resources to find a team already exist.

I'm just not sure why they keep insisting that we play the game a certain way, when it's universally obvious Bungie has no actual idea what's happening in the game.

3 RepliesI always play with my group of 4, we don't have any problems doing most things with just the four of us. Getting 2 more randoms in there probably wouldn't be too bad, but there'd need to be a vote kick or something like that. It just needs to be optional, unlike the update they're doing for the weekly heroic.

I mostly play with randoms from DestinyLFG, so I would definitely do matchmaking if it were available. I haven't always had great experiences this way, but it's always worth it when I do.

I think they should have matchmaking to fill the last 1 or 2 spots in the raid. Bungie has to make sure that person has completed that raid to be eligible to get the spot in your raid. If you don't like the person you get you can kick them and it will continue to fill the last spot. If the person is a troll you can report them and if they get enough reports they can be banned for a little time... So what do you think^

You really don't want matchmaking in raids. Its like playing Russian roulette, you get a bunch of randoms who can work together and your alive or you get a bunch of randoms that harass you and kick you and then next day we will see you in the forums ranting and raving about how you will never do the raids with randoms again. The point of the raids is to find people, friends, clanmates, people that can work together to accomplish each part of the raid.

For an online / social game to not have inbuilt social features is a complete and total miss by the development team - there is absolutely no defending that. How can you tell someone - play the game, but when you want to continue after you've done everything else, stop playing the game, go to a [i]non-affiliated, user created website[/i], or our app to maybe get lucky and find a team to play with. I understand that patience will be rewarded with certain things, so I will remain optimistic that this will happen. That said, after watching that video, and actually hearing Deej explain things a bit; I can honestly say that based on what little I do know of the man - he seems like a pragmatist. Someone who will logically explore feedback given to him. That honestly does quell some of the disappointment I've had with this title for a while - keeping in mind that the guy who runs the community has absolutely no stake or influence whatsoever in the long-term strategy of his corporate rulers.

Every day we see the same topics. You guys just won't take no for an answer do you. If you would like to join me in a raid, I would like you to have a mic.not just to communicate about who does what... But also for the social aspect of the game. If you cant understand that type of interaction, you should really play sp games only.

I dont prefer matchmaking but what i would love is a Server Browser much like how Battlefield franchise has operated, people can HOST or JOIN as they please, just gotta watch out for the badmins if u know what i mean. A nice menu showing current servers online showing the requirements and fireteam rules according to the host
