aquired the coveted Gjallermoon, and gleefully trotted along to the crucible, where they (I believe this is how the kids say it) wtfpwnz0r8ed the opposition with a k/d average of eleventy-million.
I believe it's actually 360-noscope-headshot-wtfpwnz0r8ed
BTW - I like the pwnz0r8ed and I'm gonna start using that
As you may have seen in my poll about Nerfing, I only think guns should be nerfed/buffed if it's - cue the typical Bungie quote - "not how we intended them to be" i.e. Some technical issue/error/bug (whatever you wanna call it) that's caused the gun to out/under-perform its visible stats/perks. If you're getting killed a lot by a certain gun it doesn't necessarily mean that it's 'OP', it could simply be down to the fact that more people are using it due it's simplicity and less time taken 'getting-used-to-it', rather than it being a 'grade-A Guardian destroyer'. (Given this isn't always the case hence my previous paragraph). However there's a correlation in nerf requests and it's typically the gun that Xûr is selling. I ultimately put this down to the previous paragraph and people getting miffed off. When he's selling a new gun next week - regardless of any nerf on last week's gun - nerf focus switches. It's a common cycle with peak and troughs.
If I'm doing Crucible (rarely and only for XP from Bounties) and I feel lazy, I'll use my 'uncommon' level 8 Cydona-AR3 as its ultimately the easiest gun to use and the ROF/Damage/Recoil requires very little thought from myself. If I fancy having fun and being a bit more 'with-it', I'll use my TDYK or TLW.
• There's definitely an element of that in nerf requests, but I think it's more indicative of a problem with xur, when a powerful gun goes on sale, it becomes the new crucible paradigm. The Last Word was widely looked forward too, then moaned about the week after Xur. Soon after its use in crucible died down along with the complaints. Other guns *cough*suros*cough* were made available to pretty much everyone due to 2 sales, and has remained at the top end of the crucible face-trashing ladder. If exotics like these were in fact as rare as "exotic" would suggest it wouldn't be nearly so much of a problem. But still, it's too easy to write off nerf suggestions as just a case of whining, but when the stats back it up tweaks need to be made for the sake of variety and enjoyment of the game. Suros dominated, it was the go to weapon of choice, crucible was made stagnant and uninteresting. Anyway, my general point is that nerfs can be justified and people shouldn't be so caustic against the mere hint that their favourite toys provide more of an advantage than intended. (PvE is a different issue entirely).
