Should there be matchmaking for the raid? Yes or No? No in between answers or "Yes but ......"
YES = matchmaking, just matchmaking, no filters, options, or kicking. Matchmaking as it is in the strike playlist now.
NO = no matchmaking
IF YOU SAY "YES MATHCMAKING BUT WITH......" YOUR ANSWER SHOULD BE NO BECAUSE YOU DON'T WANT MATCHMAKING THE WAY IT IS
If matchmaking was made available it would be just like the current strike playlist matchmaking. No filters, options, or kicking.
If it is kept the same then raid and weekly strikes will continue without matchmaking.
Those are your options.

Edited by Roughneck: 12/7/2014 8:05:47 AMMatchmaking as done in the strikes won't work. Aside from AFKers and the inevitable worthless lump that will plague every random group, you also need to contend with one major question: who gets designated as the fireteam lead? This is an important question because someone will inevitably be required to make the decision to boot the aforementioned AFKers and worthless lumps. However, how does that decision get made with an automated match making system? Even if it becomes something that is arbitrarily decided by the matchmaking system itself, what happens when you end up in groups where AFKers keep ending up as the fireteam lead? You'll end up spending 99% of your time queuing, loading, dying, rage quitting, reloading back to orbit, and trying to match up again. After about 5 times of going through this you'll realize the futility of matchmaking and end up in the forums either crying that matchmaking is broken or begging Bungie to nerf the raid to account for completely incompetent and/or absent matchmaking players. What is really needed is a LFG system incorporated into the Bungie and PSN apps which allows filtering AND automates the group invite process once a player selects 5 teammates he wishes to group with.
